A study on the evolution of a community population by cumulative and fractional calculus approaches

Nowadays, in our globalized world, the local and intercountry movements of population have been increased. This situation makes it important for host countries to do right predictions for the future population of their native people as well as immigrant people. The knowledge of the attained number of accumulated population is necessary for future planning, concerning to education, health, job, housing, safety requirements, etc. In this work, for updating historically well known formulas of population dynamics of a community are revisited in the framework of compound growth and fractional calculus to get more realistic relations. Within this context, for a time t, the population evolution of a society which owns two different components is calculated. Concomitant relations have been developed to provide a comparison between the native population and the immigrant population that come into existence where at each time interval a colonial population is joined. Eventually at time t, the case where the native population becomes equal to immigrant population is discussed. Moreover, the differential equation of a probability function for the equilibrium state of accumulative population is obtained. It is seen that the equilibrium solution can be written as a series in terms of Bernoulli numbers. In the calculation of population dynamics, Mittag- Leffler(M-L) function replaces the exponential function.

Extension of Nikiforov-Uvarov Method for the Solution of Heun Equation

We report an alternative method to solve second order differential equations which have at most four singular points. This method is developed by changing the degrees of the polynomials in the basic equation of Nikiforov-Uvarov (NU) method. This is called extended NU method for this paper. The eigenvalue solutions of Heun equation and confluent Heun equation are obtained via extended NU method. Some quantum mechanical problems such as Coulomb problem on a 3-sphere, two Coulombically repelling electrons on a sphere and hyperbolic double-well potential are investigated by this method.

A Unified Grand Canonical Description of The Nonextensive Thermostatistics of The Quantum Gases: Fractal and Fractional Approach

In this paper, the particles of quantum gases, that is, bosons and fermions are regarded as g-ons which obey fractional exclusion statistics. With this point of departure the thermostatistical relations concerning the Bose and Fermi systems are unified under the g-on formulation where a fractal approach is adopted. The fractal inspired entropy, the partition function, distribution function, the thermodynamics potential and the total number of g-ons have been found for a grand canonical g-on system. It is shown that from the g-on formulation; by a suitable choice of the parameters of the nonextensivity q, the parameter of the fractional exclusion statistics g, nonextensive Tsallis as well as extensive standard thermostatistical relations of the Bose and Fermi systems are recovered.
