Dual Kasch Rings

It is well known that a ring $R$ is right Kasch if each simple right $R$-module embeds in a projective right $R$-module. In this paper we study the dual notion and call a ring $R$ right dual Kasch if each simple right $R$-module is a homomorphic image of an injective right $R$-module. We prove that $R$ is right dual Kasch if and only if every finitely generated projective right $R$-module is coclosed in its injective hull. Typical examples of dual Kasch rings are self-injective rings, V-rings and commutative perfect rings. Skew group rings of dual Kasch rings by finite groups are dual Kasch if the order of the group is invertible. Many examples are given to separate the notion of Kasch and dual Kasch rings. It is shown that commutative Kasch rings are dual Kasch, and a commutative ring with finite Goldie dimension is dual Kasch if and only if it is a classical ring (i.e. every element is a zero divisor or invertible). We obtain that, for a field $k$, a finite dimensional $k$-algebra is right dual Kasch if and only if it is left Kasch. We also discuss the rings over which every simple right module is a homomorphic image of its injective hull, and these rings are termed strongly dual Kasch.

Locally Finite Representations Over Noetherian Hopf algebras

We study finite dimensional representations over some Noetherian algebras over a field of characteristic zero. More precisely, we give necessary and sufficient conditions for the category of locally finite dimensional representations to be closed under taking injective hulls and extend results known for group rings and enveloping algebras to Ore extensions, Hopf crossed products and affine Hopf algebras of low Gelfand-Kirillov dimension.

A note on a paper by Cuadra, Etingof and Walton

We analyse the proof of the main result of a paper by Cuadra, Etingof and Walton, which says that any action of a semisimple Hopf algebra $H$ on the $n$th Weyl algebra $A=A_n(K)$ over a field $K$ of characteristic $0$ factors through a group algebra. We verify that their methods can be used to show that any action of a semisimple Hopf algebra $H$ on an iterated Ore extension of derivation type $A=K[x_1;d_1][x_2;d_2][\cdots][x_n;d_n]$ in characteristic zero factors through a group algebra.

Injective hulls of simple modules over differential operator rings

We study injective hulls of simple modules over differential operator rings $R[θ; d]$, providing necessary conditions under which these modules are locally Artinian. As a consequence we characterize Ore extensions of $S=K[x][θ;σ, d]$ for $d$ a $K$-linear derivation and $σ$ a $K$-linear automorphism of $K[x]$ such that injective hulls of simple $S$-modules are locally Artinian.

Integral Calculus on Quantum Exterior Algebras

Hom-connections and associated integral forms have been introduced and studied by T.Brzeziński as an adjoint version of the usual notion of a connection in non-commutative geometry. Given a flat hom-connection on a differential calculus $(Ω, d)$ over an algebra $A$ yields the integral complex which for various algebras has been shown to be isomorphic to the noncommutative de Rham complex (in the sense of Brzeziński et al.). In this paper we shed further light on the question when the integral and the de Rham complex are isomorphic for an algebra $A$ with a flat hom-connection. We specialise our study to the case where an $n$-dimensional differential calculus can be constructed on a quantum exterior algebra over an $A$-bimodule. Criteria are given for free bimodules with diagonal or upper triangular bimodule structure. Our results are illustrated for a differential calculus on a multivariate quantum polynomial algebra and for a differential calculus on Manin's quantum $n$-space.

On Topological Lattices and an Application to First Submodules

We introduce the notion of a (strongly) topological lattice $\mathcal{L}=(L,\wedge ,\vee)$ with respect to a subset $X\subsetneqq L;$ aprototype is the lattice of (two-sided) ideals of a ring $R,$ which is(strongly) topological with respect to the prime spectrum of $R.$ We investigate and characterize (strongly) topological lattices. Given a non-zero left $R$-module $M,$ we introduce and investigate the spectrum $\mathrm{Spec}^{\mathrm{f}}(M)$ of \textit{first submodules} of $M.$ We topologize $\mathrm{Spec}^{\mathrm{f}}(M)$ and investigate the algebraic properties of $_{R}M$ by passing to the topological properties of the associated space.

Endomorphism rings of modules over prime rings

Endomorphism rings of modules appear as the center of a ring, as the fix ring of ring with group action or as the subring of constants of a derivation. This note discusses the question whether certain *-prime modules (introduced by Bican et al.) have a prime endomorphism ring. Several conditions are presented that guarantee the primness of the endomorphism ring. The contours of a possible example of a *-prime module whose endomorphism ring is not prime are traced.

The dual notion of strong irreducibility

This note gives a unifying characterization and exposition of strongly irreducible elements and their duals in lattices. The interest in the study of strong irreducibility stems from commutative ring theory, while the dual concept of strong irreducibility had been used to define Zariski-like topologies on specific lattices of submodules of a given module over an associative ring. Based on our lattice theoretical approach, we give a unifying treatment of strong irreducibility, dualize results on strongly irreducible submodules, examine its behavior under central localization and apply our theory to the frame of hereditary torsion theories.

Injective hulls of simple modules over finite dimensional nilpotent complex Lie superalgebras

We show that the finite dimensional nilpotent complex Lie superalgebras g whose injective hulls of simple U(g)-modules are locally Artinian are precisely those whose even part g_0 is isomorphic to a nilpotent Lie algebra with an abelian ideal of codimension 1 or to a direct product of an abelian Lie algebra and a certain 5-dimensional or a certain 6-dimensional nilpotent Lie algebra.

Irreducible actions and compressible modules

Any finite set of linear operators on an algebra $A$ yields an operator algebra $B$ and a module structure on A, whose endomorphism ring is isomorphic to a subring $A^B$ of certain invariant elements of $A$. We show that if $A$ is a critically compressible left $B$-module, then the dimension of its self-injective hull $A$ over the ring of fractions of $A^B$ is bounded by the uniform dimension of $A$ and the number of linear operators generating $B$. This extends a known result on irreducible Hopf actions and applies in particular to weak Hopf action. Furthermore we prove necessary and sufficient conditions for an algebra A to be critically compressible in the case of group actions, group gradings and Lie actions.

Injective Modules over Down-Up Algebras

The purpose of this paper is to study finiteness conditions on injective hulls of simple modules over Noetherian Down-Up algebras. We will show that the Noetherian Down-Up algebras A(α,β,γ) which are fully bounded are precisely those which are module-finite over a central subalgebra. We show that injective hulls of simple A(α,β,γ)-modules are locally Artinian provided the roots of X^2-αX-βare distinct roots of unity or both equal to one.
