Minimal Steklov eigenvalues on combinatorial graphs

In this paper, we study extremal problems of Steklov eigenvalues on combinatorial graphs by extending Friedman's theory [Duke Math. J. 69 (1993), no. 3, 487--525] of nodal domains for Laplacian eigenfunctions to Steklov eigenfunctions, and solve an extremal problem for Steklov eigenvalues on combinatorial graphs that is an analogue of the extremal problem solved by Friedman [Duke Math. J. 83 (1996), no. 1, 1--18.] for Laplacian eigenvalues. More precisely, we mainly show that the minimum of the $i^{\rm th}$ Steklov eigenvalue on a connected combinatorial graph with $n$ vertices is essentially attained by a star with each arm a minimal broom when $i\not|n$, and attained by a regular comb with each tooth a minimal broom when $i|n$.

Monotonicity of Steklov eigenvalues on graphs and applications

In this paper, we obtain monotonicity of Steklov eigenvalues on graphs which as a special case on trees extends the results of He-Hua [Calc. Var. Partial Differential Equations 61 (2022), no. 3, Paper No. 101, arXiv: 2103.07696] to higher Steklov eigenvalues and gives affirmative answers to two problems proposed in He-Hua [arXiv: 2103.07696]. As applications of the monotonicity of Steklov eigenvalues, we obtain some estimates for Steklov eigenvalues on trees generalizing the isodiametric estimate for the first positive Steklov eigenvalues on trees in He-Hua [arXiv:2011.11014].

Rigidity of a trace estimate for Steklov eigenvalues

In this short note, we show the rigidity of a trace estimate for Steklov eigenvalues with respect to functions in our previous work (Trace and inverse trace of Steklov eigenvalues. J. Differential Equations 261 (2016), no. 3, 2026--2040.). Namely, we show that equality of the estimate holds if and only if the manifold is a direct product of a round ball and a closed manifold. The key ingredient in the proof is a decomposition theorem for flat and totally geodesic Riemannian submersions which may be of independent interests.

Steklov eigenvalues on annulus

We obtain supremum of the k-th normalized Steklov eigenvalues of all rotational symmetric conformal metrics on the cylinder with k>1. The case k=1 for all conformal metrics has been completely solved by Fraser and Schoen. We give geometric description in terms of minimal surfaces for metrics attaining the supremum. We also obtain some partial results on the comparison of the normalized Stekov eigenvalues of rotationally symmetric metrics and general conformal metrics on the cylinder. A counter example is constructed to show that for that the first normalized Steklov eigenvalue of rotationally symmetric metric may not be larger.

Hessian comparison and eigenvalue estimate of almost Hermitian manifolds

In this paper, by using the Bochner technique on almost Hermitian manifolds, we obtain a complex Hessian comparison for almost Hermitian manifolds generalizing the Laplacian comparison for almost Hermitian manifolds by Tossati, and reprove a diameter estimate for almost Hermitian manifolds by Gray. Moreover, we obtain a sharp eigenvalue estimate on quasi Kaehler manifolds and a sharp Hessian comparison on nearly Kaehler manifolds.

A Note on Wu-Zheng's Splitting Conjecture

Cao's splitting theorem says that for any complete Kähler-Ricci flow $(M,g(t))$ with $t\in [0,T)$, $M$ simply connected and nonnegative bounded holomorphic bisectional curvature, $(M,g(t))$ is holomorphically isometric to $\C^k\times (N,h(t))$ where $(N,h(t))$ is a Kahler-Ricci flow with positive Ricci curvature for $t>0$. In this article, we show that $k=n-r$ where $r$ is the Ricci rank of the initial metric. As a corollary, we also confirm a splitting conjecture of Wu-Zheng when curvature is assumed to be bounded.

Some comparison theorems for Kahler manifolds

In this work, we will verify some comparison results on Kahler manifolds. They are complex Hessian comparison for the distance function from a closed complex submanifold of a Kahler manifold with holomorphic bisectional curvature bounded below by a constant, eigenvalue comparison and volume comparison in terms of scalar curvature. This work is motivated by comparison results of Li and Wang .
