Muon g-2, Neutralino Dark Matter and Stau NLSP

We explore the implications of resolving the muon g-2 anomaly in a SU(4)_c x SU(2)_L x SU(2)_R model, where the soft supersymmetry breaking scalar and gaugino masses break the left-right (LR) symmetry. A 2 sigma resolution of the anomaly requires relatively light sleptons, chargino and LSP neutralino. The stau turns out to be the NLSP of mass <~ 400 GeV, and the sleptons from the first two families can be as heavy as about 800 GeV. The chargino is also required to be lighter than about 600 GeV to accommodate the muon g-2 solutions consistent with the dark matter relic density constraint. The dominant right-handed nature of the light slepton states suppress the sensitivity of possible signals which can be probed in Run3 experiments at the LHC. We also discuss the impact of accomodating the Higgs boson mass and the vacuum stability of the scalar potential for these solutions. The Higgsinos are heavier than about 4 TeV, and the LSP neutralino has the correct relic density if it is Bino-like. We identify stau-neutralino coannihilation as the dominant mechanism for realizing the desired dark matter relic density, with sneutrino-neutralino coannihiliation playing a minor role. These bino-like dark matter solutions can yield a spin-independent scattering cross-section on the order of 10^{-3} pb which hopefully, can be expected to be tested in the near future.

Proton Lifetime in Minimal SUSY SU(5) in Light of LHC Results

We examine proton decay mediated by color-triplet Higgsinos in minimal supersymmetric $SU(5)$ grand unified theory in light of the discovery of the Higgs boson and the absence of SUSY signals at the LHC. We pay special attention to various threshold effects arising from Planck-suppressed operators that affect the color-triplet Higgsino mass and also correct the wrong mass relations for the light fermions. Our analysis allows for a non-universal SUSY spectrum with the third family scalars having a separate mass compared to the first two families. We identify the allowed parameter space of the model and show that the SUSY scalar masses are constrained by current limits from proton lifetime to be above 5 TeV, while the glunio, Wino and the Higgsinos may be within reach of the LHC. When the SUSY scalar masses are required to be $\leq 20$ TeV, so that they are within reach of next generation collider experiments, we find that proton lifetime for the decay $p \rightarrow \overlineν K^+$ is bounded by $τ(p \rightarrow \overlineν K^+) \leq 1.1 \times 10^{35}$ yrs.

The 28 GeV Dimuon Excess in Lepton Specific 2HDM

We explore the Higgs mass spectrum in a class of Two Higgs Doublet Models (THDMs) in which a scalar SU(2)_L doublet interacts only with quarks, while the second one interacts only with leptons. The spectrum includes two CP-even Higgs bosons, either of which can account for the SM-like Higgs boson, and the spectra involving light Higgs bosons receive strong impacts from the LEP results and the current collider analyses. We find that a consistent spectrum can involve a CP-odd Higgs boson as light as about 10 GeV, while the lightest CP-even Higgs boson cannot be lighter than about 55 GeV when m_A ~ 28 GeV. These analyses can rather bound the low tan beta region which can also accommodate an observed excess in dimuon events at m_mumu ~ 28 GeV. A lepton-specific class of THDMs (LS-THDM) can predict such an excess through A -> mu mu decays, while the solutions can be constrained by the A -> tau tau mode. After constraining the solutions with the consistent ranges of sigma(pp -> bbA -> bb tau tau), a largest excess at about 1.5 sigma at 8 TeV center of mass (COM) energy and 2 sigma at 13 TeV COM is observed for tan beta ~ 12 and m_A ~ 28 GeV in the sigma(pp -> bbA -> bb mu mu) events.

Scalar Dark Matter and Electroweak Stability

The standard model of elementary particles (SM), despite experimental completion at the LHC, needs to be extended for various physical reasons, including the cold dark matter (DM). Each extension comes with its scale and mechanism, and typically lifts, at the loop level, the electroweak scale towards its high scale. The problem is to keep the electroweak scale stable while providing a room for the aforementioned heavy extensions. To this end, it turns out that the SM Higgs sector remains stable in the presence of a heavy scalar if their quartic couplings unify at a certain scale when their masses are degenerate. Under this mass-degeneracy-driven unification (MDDU), the scalar under concern is found to qualify as a viable DM candidate and to leave the electroweak scale stable. Our detailed simulation studies explicitly show that the MDDU parameter space agrees with current collider and astrophysical bounds. Our work can be extended to other relevant scalars (like flavons, inflaton and others) as a mechanism by which the electroweak scale is held stable.

Sparticle Spectroscopy and Dark Matter in a $U(1)_{B-L}$ extension of MSSM

We consider a class of SUSY models in which the MSSM gauge group is supplemented with a gauged $U(1)_{B-L}$ symmetry and a global $U(1)_{R}$ symmetry. This extension introduces only electrically neutral states, and the new SUSY partners effectively double the number of states in the neutralino sector that now includes a blino (from $B-L$) and singlino from a gauge singlet superfield. If the DM density is saturated by a LSP neutralino, the model yields quite a rich phenomenology depending on the DM composition. The LSP relic density constraint provides a lower bound on the stop and gluino masses of about 3 TeV and 4 TeV respectively, which is testable in the near future collider experiments such as HL-LHC. The chargino mass lies between 0.24 TeV and about 2.0 TeV, which can be tested based on the allowed decay channels. We also find $m_{\tildeτ_{1}}\gtrsim 500$ GeV, and $m_{\tilde{e}},m_{\tildeμ},m_{\tildeν^{S,P}} \gtrsim 1$ TeV. We identify chargino-neutralino coannihilation processes in the mass region $0.24 \,{\rm TeV} \lesssim m_{\tildeχ_{1}^{0}}\approx m_{\tildeχ_{1}^{\pm}}\lesssim 1.5$ TeV, and also coannihilation processes involving stau, selectron, smuon and sneutrinos for masses around 1 TeV. In addition, $A_{2}$ resonance solutions are found around 1 TeV, and $H_{2}$ and $H_{3}$ resonance solutions are also shown around 0.5 TeV and 1 TeV . Some of the $A_{2}$ resonance solutions with $\tanβ\gtrsim 20$ may be tested by the $A/H\rightarrow τ^{+}τ^{-}$ LHC searches. While the relic density constraint excludes the bino-like DM, it is still possible to realize higgsino, singlino and blino-like DM for various mass scales. We show that all these solutions will be tested in future direct detection experiments such as LUX-Zeplin and Xenon-nT.

Testing Yukawa Unification at LHC Run-3 and HL-LHC

We explore $t-b-τ$ Yukawa unification (YU) in a supersymmetric $SU(4)_c \times SU(2)_L \times SU(2)_R $ model without imposing a discrete left-right (L-R) symmetry. A number of interesting solutions that are compatible with $t-b-τ$ YU, LSP neutralino dark matter (DM), and LHC and other experimental constraints are identified. In particular, they include gluino-neutralino and stau-neutralino co-annihilation scenarios, where the NLSP gluino mass can range from 1-3 TeV. Higgsino-like dark matter solutions are also identified for which gluino masses can approach 5 TeV or so. This scenario will be tested at LHC Run-3 and its future upgrades.

Gauge Mediation Models with Adjoint Messengers

We present a class of models in the framework of gauge mediation supersymmetry breaking where the messenger fields transform in the adjoint representation of the Standard Model gauge symmetry. To avoid unacceptably light right-handed sleptons in the spectrum we introduce a non-zero U(1)_B-L D-term. This leads to an additional contribution to the soft supersymmetry breaking mass terms which makes the right-handed slepton masses compatible with the current experimental bounds. We show that in this framework the observed 125 GeV Higgs boson mass can be accommodated with the sleptons accessible at the LHC, while the squarks and gluinos lie in the multi-TeV range. We also discuss the issue of the fine-tuning and show that the desired relic dark matter abundance can also be accommodated.

Mass Spectrum and Higgs Profile in BLSSM

We investigate the predictions on the mass spectrum and Higgs boson decays in the supersymmetric standard model extended by U(1)_B-L symmetry (BLSSM). The model requires two singlet Higgs fields, which are responsible for the radiative breaking of U(1)_B-L symmetry. It predicts degenerate right-handed neutrino masses (1.7-2.2 TeV) as well as the right-handed sneutrinos of mass <~ 4 TeV. The presence of right-handed neutrinos and sneutrinos trigger the baryon and lepton number violation processes, until they decouple from the Standard model particles. Besides, the model predicts rather heavy colored particles; stop and sbottom massesare >~ 1.5 TeV, while stau mass >~ 100 GeV and chargino mass >~ 600 GeV. Even though, the implications are similar to minimal supersymmetric standard model, BLSSM can predict another Higgs boson lighter than 150 GeV. We find that the second Higgs boson can be degenerate with the lightest CP-even Higgs boson of mass about 125 GeV and contribute to the Higgs decay into two photons. In addition, it can provide an explanation for the excess in h -> 4l at the mass scale ~ 145 GeV.

Quasi Yukawa Unification and Fine-Tuning in U(1) Extended SSM

We consider the low scale implications in the U(1)' extended MSSM (UMSSM). We restrict the parameter space such that the lightest supersymmetric particle (LSP) is always the lightest neutralino. In addition, we impose quasi Yukawa unification (QYU) at the grand unification scale (M_GUT). QYU strictly requires the ratios among the yukawa couplings as y_t/y_b ~ 1.2, y_tau/y_b ~ 1.4, and y_t/y_tau ~ 0.8. We find that the need of fine-tuning over the fundamental parameter space of QYU is in the acceptable range (Delta_EW <= 10^3), even if the universal boundary conditions are imposed at M_ GUT, in contrast to CMSSM and NUHM. UMSSM with the universal boundary conditions yields heavy stops (m_{stop} >~ 2.5 TeV), gluinos (m_gluino >~ 2 TeV), and squarks from the first two families (m_squarks >~ 4 TeV). Similarly the stau mass is bounded from below at about 1.5 TeV. Despite this heavy spectrum, we find Delta_EW >~ 300, which is much lower than that needed for the minimal supersymmetric models. In addition, UMSSM yield relatively small mu-term, and the LSP neutralio is mostly form by the Higgsinos of mass >~ 700 GeV. We obtain also bino-like dark matter (DM) of mass about 400 GeV. Wino is usually found to be heavier than Higgsinos and binos, but there is a small region where mu ~ M_1 ~ M_2 ~ 1 TeV. We also identify chargino-neutralino coannihilation channel and A-resonance solutions which reduce the relic abundance of LSP neutralino down to the ranges compatible with the current WMAP measurements.

Reconciling Muon g-2, 125 GeV Higgs and Dark Matter in Gauge Mediation Models

We present a class of models in the framework of gauge mediation supersymmetry breaking where the standard model is supplemented by additional U(1) symmetry which acts only on the third generation fermions. The messenger fields carry non-trivial U(1) charge and are vector-like particles under this symmetry. This leads to additional contribution to the soft supersymmetry breaking mass terms for the third generation squarks and sleptons. In this framework we show that the muon g-2 anomaly, the observed 125 GeV Higgs boson mass and the detected relic dark matter abundance (gravitino in our case) can be simultaneously accommodated. The resolution of the muon g-2 anomaly, in particular, yields the result that the first two generation squark masses, as well the gluino mass, should be <~ 2.5 TeV, which will be tested at LHC14.

Generalized Soft Breaking Leverage for the MSSM

In this work we study implications of additional non-holomorphic soft breaking terms (mu', A'_t, A'_b and A'_tau) on the MSSM phenomenology. By respecting the existing bounds on the mass measurements and restrictions coming from certain B-decays, we probe reactions of the MSSM to these additional soft breaking terms. We provide examples in which some slightly excluded solutions of the MSSM can be made to be consistent with the current experimental results. During this, even after applying additional fine-tuning constraints the non-holomorphic terms are allowed to be as large as hundreds of GeV. Such terms prove that they are capable of enriching the phenomenology and varying the mass spectra of the MSSM heavily, with a reasonable amount of fine-tuning. We observe that higgsinos, the lightest stop, the heavy Higgs boson states A, H, charged H, sbottom and stau exhibit the highest sensitivity to the new terms. We also show how the light stop can become nearly degenerate with top quark using these non-holomorphic terms.

Muon Anomalous Magnetic Moment in SUSY B-L Model with Inverse Seesaw

Motivated by the tension between the Higgs mass and muon g-2 in minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM), we analyze the muon g-2 in supersymmertic B-L extension of the standard model (BLSSM) with inverse seesaw mechanism. In this model, the Higgs mass receives extra important radiative corrections proportional to large neutrino Yukawa coupling. We point out that muon g-2 also gets significant contribution, due to the constructive interferences of light neutralino effects. The light neutralinos are typically the MSSM Bino like and the supersymmetric partner of U(1)_B-L gauge boson (B'-ino). We show that with universal soft supersymmetry breaking terms, the muon g-2 resides within 2 sigma of the measured value, namely ~17 x 10^-10, with Higgs mass equal to 125 GeV .

Neutralino Dark Matter and Other LHC Predictions from Quasi Yukawa Unification

We explore the dark matter and LHC implications of t-b-tau quasi Yukawa unification in the framework of supersymmetric models based on the gauge symmetry G=SU(4)_{c}\times SU(2)_{L}\times SU(2)_{R}. The deviation from exact Yukawa unification is quantified by a dimensionless parameter C (|C| <~ 0.2), such that the Yukawa couplings at M_GUT are related by y_t:y_b:y_tau=|1+C| : |1-C| : |1+3C|. In contrast to earlier studies which focused on universal gaugino masses, we consider non-universal gaugino masses at M_GUT that are compatible with the gauge symmetry G. We perform two independent scans of the fundamental parameter space, one of which employs ISAJET, while the other uses SoftSusy interfaced with SuperIso. These scans reveal qualitatively similar allowed regions in the parameter space, and yield a variety of neutralino dark matter scenarios consistent with the observations. These include stau and chargino coannihilation scenarios, the A-resonance scenario, as well as Higgsino dark matter solution which is more readily probed by direct detection searches. The gluino mass is found to be <~ 4.2 TeV, the stop mass is >~ 2 TeV, while the first two family squarks and sleptons are of order 4-5 TeV and 3 TeV respectively.

Yukawa Unification and Sparticle Spectroscopy in Gauge Mediation Models

We explore the implications of t-b-tau (and b-tau) Yukawa coupling unification condition on the fundamental parameter space and sparticle spectroscopy in the minimal gauge mediated supersymmetry breaking (mGMSB) model. We find that this scenario prefers values of the CP-odd Higgs mass m_A > 1 TeV, with all colored sparticle masses above 3 TeV. These predictions will be hard to test at LHC13 but they may be testable at HE-LHC 33 TeV or a 100 TeV collider. Both t-b-tau and b-tau Yukawa coupling unifications prefer a relatively light gravitino with mass < 30 eV, which makes it a candidate hot dark matter particle. However, it cannot account for more than 15 % of the observed dark matter density.

Muon g-2, 125 GeV Higgs and Neutralino Dark Matter in sMSSM

We discuss the sparticle (and Higgs) spectrum in a class of flavor symmetry-based minimal supersymmetric standard models, referred to here as sMSSM. In this framework the SUSY breaking Lagrangian takes the most general form consistent with a grand unified symmetry such as SO(10) and a non-Abelian flavor symmetry acting on the three families with either a 2+1 or a 3 family assignment. Models based on gauged SU(2) and SO(3) flavor symmetry, as well as non-Abelian discrete symmetries such as S_3 and A_4, have been suggested which fall into this category. These models describe supersymmetry breaking in terms of seven phenomenological parameters. The soft supersymmetry breaking masses at M_GUT of all sfermions of the first two families are equal in sMSSM, which differ in general from the corresponding third family mass. In such a framework we show that the muon g-2 anomaly, the observed Higgs boson mass of ~ 125 GeV, and the observed relic neutralino dark matter abundance can be simultaneously accommodated. The resolution of the muon g-2 anomaly in particular yields the result that the first two generation squark masses, as well the gluino mass, should be <~ 2 TeV, which will be tested at LHC14.

Nonuniversal Gaugino Masses and Muon g-2

We consider two classes of supersymmetric models with nonuniversal gaugino masses at M_GUT in an attempt to resolve the apparent muon g-2 anomaly encountered in the Standard Model. We explore two distinct scenarios, one in which all gaugino masses have the same sign at M_GUT, and a second case with opposite sign gaugino masses. The sfermion masses in both cases are assumed to be universal at M_GUT. We exploit the non universality among gaugino masses to realize large mass splitting between the colored and non-colored sfermions. Thus, the sleptons can have masses in the few hundred GeV range, whereas the colored sparticles turn out to be an order of magnitude or so heavier. In both models the resolution of the muon g-2 anomaly is compatible, among other things, with a 125-126 GeV Higgs boson mass and the WMAP dark matter bounds.

Split Sfermion Families, Yukawa Unification and Muon g-2

We consider two distinct classes of Yukawa unified supersymmetric SO(10) models with non-universal and universal soft supersymmetry breaking (SSB) gaugino masses at M_{\rm GUT}. In both cases, we assume that the third family SSB sfermion masses at M_{\rm GUT} are different from the corresponding sfermion masses of the first two families (which are equal). For the SO(10) model with essentially arbitrary (non-universal) gaugino masses at M_{\rm GUT}, it is shown that t-b-τYukawa coupling unification is compatible, among other things, with the 125 GeV Higgs boson mass, the WMAP relic dark matter density, and with the resolution of the apparent muon g-2 anomaly. The colored sparticles in this case all turn out to be quite heavy, of order 5 TeV or more, but the sleptons (smuon and stau) can be very light, of order 200 GeV or so. For the SO(10) model with universal gaugino masses and NUHM2 boundary conditions, the muon g-2 anomaly cannot be resolved. However, the gluino in this class of models is not too heavy, \lesssim 3 TeV, and therefore may be found at the LHC.

Stop on Top: SUSY Parameter Regions, Fine-Tuning Constraints

We analyze minimal supersymmetric models in order to determine in what parameter regions with what amount of fine-tuning they are capable of accomodating the LHC-allowed top-stop degeneracy window. The stops must be light enough to enable Higgs naturalness yet heavy enough to induce a 125 GeV Higgs boson mass. These two constraints imply a large mass splitting. By an elaborate scan of the parameter space, we show that stop-on-top scenario requires at least Delta_CMSSM ~ O(10^4) fine-tuning in the CMSSM. By relaxing the CMSSM parameter space with nonuniversal Higgs masses, we find that Delta_NUHM1 ~ O(10^4). The CMSSM with gravitino LSP works slightly better than the NUHM1 model. Compared to all these, the CMSSM with mu<0 and nonuniversal gauginos yield a much smaller fine-tuning Delta_{mu,g} ~ O(100). Our results show that gaugino sector can pave the road towards a more natural stop-on-top scenario.

A Predictive Yukawa Unified SO(10) Model: Higgs and Sparticle Masses

We revisit a class of supersymmetric SO(10) models with t-b-tau Yukawa coupling unification condition, with emphasis on the prediction of the Higgs mass. We discuss qualitative features in this model that lead to a Higgs mass prediction close to 125 GeV. We show this with two distinct computing packages, Isajet and SuSpect, and also show that they yield similar global features in the parameter space of this model. We find that t-b-tau Yukawa coupling unification prefers values of the CP-odd Higgs mass m_{A} to be around 600 GeV, with all colored sparticle masses above 3 TeV. We also briefly discuss prospects for testing this scenario with the ongoing and planned direct dark matter detection experiments. In this class of models with t-b-tau Yukawa unification, the neutralino dark matter particle is heavy (m_{\tildeχ_1^{0}} \gtrsim 400 \rm \ GeV), which coannihilates with a stau to yield the correct relic abundance.

Higgs and Sparticle Masses from Yukawa Unified SO(10): A Snowmass White Paper

We discuss ways to probe t-b-tau Yukawa coupling unification condition at the Energy and Intensity frontiers. We consider non-universal soft supersymmetry breaking mass terms for gauginos related by the SO(10) grand unified theory (GUT). We have previously shown that t-b-tau Yukawa coupling unification prefers a mass of around 125 GeV for the Standard Model-like Higgs boson with all colored sparticle masses above 3 TeV. The well-known MSSM parameter tan(beta) is about 47-48 and neutralino-stau coannihilation yields the desired relic dark matter density.

Higgs Boson Mass from t-b-tau Yukawa Unification

We employ the Yukawa coupling unification condition, y_t= y_b= y_tau at M_GUT, inspired by supersymmetric SO(10) models, to estimate the lightest Higgs boson mass as well as masses of the associated squarks and gluino. We employ non-universal soft masses, dictated by SO(10) symmetry, for the gauginos. Furthermore, the soft masses for the two scalar Higgs doublets are set equal at M_GUT, and in some examples these are equal to the soft masses for scalars in the matter multiplets. For mu > 0, M_2 > 0, where M_2 denotes the SU(2) gaugino mass, essentially perfect t-b-tau Yukawa unification is possible, and it predicts a Higgs mass of 122 - 124 GeV with a theoretical uncertainty of about 3 GeV. The corresponding gluino and the first two family squarks have masses 3 TeV. We present some LHC testable benchmark points which also show the presence of neutralino-stau coannihilation in this scenario. The well-known MSSM parameter tan beta~47.

SO(10) Yukawa Unification with mu < 0

We consider the low energy implications including particle spectroscopy of SO(10) inspired t-b-tau Yukawa coupling unification with mu < 0, where mu is the coefficient of the bilinear Higgs mixing term of the minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM). We imploy non-universal MSSM gaugino masses induced by SO(10) invariant dimension five operators, such that the total number of fundamental parameters is precisely the same as in Yukawa unified supersymmetric SO(10) models with universal gaugino masses and mu > 0. We find that t-b-tau Yukawa unification with mu < 0 is compatible with the current experimental bounds, including the WMAP bound on neutralino dark matter and the measured value of the muon anomalous magnetic moment. We present a variety of benchmark points which include relatively light squarks (~ TeV) of the first two families and an example in which the bottom and top squarks are lighter than the gluino. This is quite distinct from Yukawa unification with mu > 0 and universal gaugino masses in which the gluino is the lightest colored sparticle and the sqaurks of the first two families have masses in the multi-TeV range.

Sparticle Spectroscopy with Neutralino Dark matter from t-b-tau Quasi-Yukawa Unification

We consider two classes of t-b-tau quasi-Yukawa unification scenarios which can arise from realistic supersymmetric SO(10) and SU(4)_C X SU(2)_L X SU(2)_R models. We show that these scenarios can be successfully implemented in the CMSSM and NUHM1 frameworks, and yields a variety of sparticle spectra with WMAP compatible neutralino dark matter. In NUHM1 we find bino-higgsino dark matter as well as the stau coannihilation and A-funnel solutions. The CMSSM case yields the stau coannihilation and A-funnel solutions. The gluino and squark masses are found to lie in the TeV range.
