Low-temperature Raman spectra of L-histidine crystal

We present a Raman spectroscopy investigation of the vibrational properties of L-histidine crystals at low temperatures. The temperature dependence of the spectra show discontinuities at 165 K, which we identify with modifications in the bonds associated to both the NH3+ and CO2- motifs indicative of a conformational phase transition that changes the intermolecular bonds. Additional evidence of such a phase transition was provided by differential scanning calorimetry measurements, which identified an enthalpic anomaly at ~165 K.

Effective interactions from q-deformed inspired transformations

From the mass term for the transformed quark fields, we obtain effective contact interactions of the NJL type. The parameters of the model that maps a system of non-interacting transformed fields into quarks interacting via NJL contact terms are discussed.

Peripheral N$α$ Scattering: A Tool For Identifying The Two Pion Exchange Component Of The NN Potential

We study elastic N$α$ scattering and produce a quantitative correlation between the range of the effective potential and the energy of the system. This allows the identification of the waves and energies for which the scattering may be said to be peripheral. We then show that the corresponding phase shifts are sensitive to the tail of the NN potential, which is due to the exchange of two pions. However, the present uncertainties in the experimental phase shifts prevent the use of N$α$ scattering to discriminate the existing models for the NN interaction.
