Twisted differential operators and qq-crystals

We discuss the notion of a q-PD-envelope considered by Bhatt and Scholze in their recent theory of q-crystalline cohomology and explain the relation with our notion of a divided polynomial twisted algebra. Together with an interpretation of crystals on the q-crystalline site, that we call q-crystals, as modules endowed with some kind of stratification, it allows us to associate a module on the ring of twisted differential operators to any q-crystal. For simplicity, we explain here only the one dimensional case.

Twisted calculus on affinoid algebras

We introduce the notion of a twisted differential operator of given radius relative to an endomorphism σσ of an affinoid algebra A. We show that this notion is essentially independent of the choice of the endomorphism σσ. As a particular case, we obtain an explicit equivalence between modules endowed with a usual integrable connection (i.e. differential systems) and modules endowed with a σσ-connection of the same radius (i.e. q-difference systems). Moreover, this equivalence preserves cohomology and in particular solutions.

Twisted calculus

A twisted ring is a ring endowed with a family of endomorphisms satisfying certain relations. One may then consider the notions of twisted module and twisted differential module. We study them and show that, under some general hypothesis, the categories of twisted modules and integrable twisted differential modules are equivalent. As particular cases, one recovers classical results from the theory of finite difference equations or q-difference equations.

On quantum state of numbers

We introduce the notions of quantum characteristic and quantum flatness for arbitrary rings. More generally, we develop the theory of quantum integers in a ring and show that the hypothesis of quantum flatness together with positive quantum characteristic generalizes the usual notion of prime positive characteristic. We also explain how one can define quantum rational numbers in a ring and introduce the notion of twisted powers. These results play an important role in many different areas of mathematics and will also be quite useful in a subsequent work of the authors.

Constructible nabla-modules on curves

Let V\mathcal V be a discrete valuation ring of mixed characteristic with perfect residue field. Let XX be a geometrically connected smooth proper curve over V\mathcal V. We introduce the notion of constructible convergent ∇\nabla-module on the analytification XKanX_{K}^{\mathrm{an}} of the generic fibre of XX. A constructible module is an OXKan\mathcal O_{X_{K}^{\mathrm{an}}}-module which is not necessarily coherent, but becomes coherent on a stratification by locally closed subsets of the special fiber XkX_{k} of XX. The notions of connection, of (over-) convergence and of Frobenius structure carry over to this situation. We describe a specialization functor from the category of constructible convergent ∇\nabla-modules to the category of DX^Q†\mathcal D^\dagger_{\hat X \mathbf Q}-modules. We show that if XX is endowed with a lifting of the absolute Frobenius of XX, then specialization induces an equivalence between constructible FF-∇\nabla-modules and perverse holonomic FF-DX^Q†\mathcal D^\dagger_{\hat X \mathbf Q}-modules.
