Asymptotic fluctuations of geometric q-TASEP, geometric q-PushTASEP and q-PushASEP

We investigate the asymptotic fluctuation of three interacting particle systems: the geometric q-TASEP, the geometric q-PushTASEP and the q-PushASEP. We prove that the rescaled particle position converges to the GUE Tracy-Widom distribution in the homogeneous case. If the jump rates of the first finitely many particles are perturbed in the first two models, we obtain that the limiting fluctuations are governed by the Baik-Ben Arous-Peche distribution and that of the top eigenvalue of finite GUE matrices.

Upper tail decay of KPZ models with Brownian initial conditions

In this paper we consider the limiting distribution of KPZ growth models with random but not stationary initial conditions introduced in [Chhita-Ferrari-Spohn 2018]. The one-point distribution of the limit is given in terms of a variational problem. By directly studying it, we deduce the right tail asymptotic of the distribution function. This gives a rigorous proof and extends the results obtained in [Meerson-Schmidt 2017].

Fluctuations of the Arctic curve in the tilings of the Aztec diamond on restricted domains

We consider uniform random domino tilings of the restricted Aztec diamond which is obtained by cutting off an upper triangular part of the Aztec diamond by a horizontal line. The restriction line asymptotically touches the arctic circle that is the limit shape of the north polar region in the unrestricted model. We prove that the rescaled boundary of the north polar region in the restricted domain converges to the Airy$_2$ process conditioned to stay below a parabola with explicit continuous statistics and the finite dimensional distribution kernels. The limit is the hard-edge tacnode process which was first discovered in the framework of non-intersecting Brownian bridges. The proof relies on a random walk representation of the correlation kernel of the non-intersecting line ensemble which corresponds to a random tiling.

The hard-edge tacnode process for Brownian motion

We consider $N$ non-intersecting Brownian bridges conditioned to stay below a fixed threshold. We consider a scaling limit where the limit shape is tangential to the threshold. In the large $N$ limit, we determine the limiting distribution of the top Brownian bridge conditioned to stay below a function as well as the limiting correlation kernel of the system. It is a one-parameter family of processes which depends on the tuning of the threshold position on the natural fluctuation scale. We also discuss the relation to the six-vertex model and to the Aztec diamond on restricted domains.

Borodin-Péché fluctuations of the free energy in directed random polymer models

We consider two directed polymer models in the Kardar-Parisi-Zhang (KPZ) universality class: the O'Connell-Yor semi-discrete directed polymer with boundary sources and the continuum directed random polymer with (m,n)-spiked boundary perturbations. The free energy of the continuum polymer is the Hopf-Cole solution of the KPZ equation with the corresponding (m,n)-spiked initial condition. This new initial condition is constructed using two semi-discrete polymer models with independent bulk randomness and coupled boundary sources. We prove that the limiting fluctuations of the free energies rescaled by the 1/3rd power of time in both polymer models converge to the Borodin-Peche type deformations of the GUE Tracy-Widom distribution.

Analytic results and weighted Monte Carlo simulations for CDO pricing

We explore the possibilities of importance sampling in the Monte Carlo pricing of a structured credit derivative referred to as Collateralized Debt Obligation (CDO). Modeling a CDO contract is challenging, since it depends on a pool of (typically about 100) assets, Monte Carlo simulations are often the only feasible approach to pricing. Variance reduction techniques are therefore of great importance. This paper presents an exact analytic solution using Laplace-transform and MC importance sampling results for an easily tractable intensity-based model of the CDO, namely the compound Poissonian. Furthermore analytic formulae are derived for the reweighting efficiency. The computational gain is appealing, nevertheless, even in this basic scheme, a phase transition can be found, rendering some parameter regimes out of reach. A model-independent transform approach is also presented for CDO pricing.
