Higher order approximations to the longitudinal structure function $F_{L}$ from the parametrization of $F_{2}$ based on the Laplace transformation

We describe the determination of the longitudinal structure function $F_{L}$ at NLO and NNLO approximations, using Laplace transform techniques, into the parametrization of $F_{2}(x,Q^{2})$ and its derivative with respect to $\ln{Q^{2}}$ at low values of the Bjorken variable $x$. The obtained results are comparable with others by considering the effect of the charm quark mass to the longitudinal structure function, which leads to rescaling variable for $n_{f}=4$. Numerical calculations and comparison with H1 data demonstrate that the suggested method provides reliable $F_{L}(x,Q^{2})$ at small $x$ in a wide range of $Q^{2}$ values and can be applied as well in analyses of ultra-high energy processes with cosmic neutrinos. The obtained longitudinal structure functions with and without the LHeC simulated uncertainties [CERN-ACC-Note-2020-0002, LHeC Collaboration and FCC-he Study Group, P. Agostini et al., J. Phys. G: Nucl. Part. Phys. {\bf48}, 110501(2021).] are compared with the H1 Collaboration data [Eur.Phys.J.C{\bf74}, 2814(2014) and Eur.Phys.J.C{\bf71}, 1579 (2011)] and with the results from CT18 [Phys.Rev.D{\bf103}, 014013(2021)] parametrization model at NLO and NNLO approximations.

Searching for top quark pair production cross section at LHeC and FCC-eh

The deep inelastic scattering mode of $t\overline{t}$ pair production at the proposed LHeC and FCC-eh is considered. We present a method to extract the top reduced cross section related to the transversal structure function $F_{2}(x,Q^{2})$ parameterization. Numerical calculations with known kinematics of the LHeC and FCC-eh colliders are demonstrated. The results obtained for charm and beauty pair production are comparable with the experimental data. We show that for a wide range of the momentum transfer into the top quark pair, the reduced cross section is well described by center-of-mass energies.

The Color Dipole Picture and extracting the ratio of structure functions at small $x$

We present a set of formulas to extract the ratio $F_{L}(x,Q^{2})/F_{2}(x,Q^{2})$ and $R(x,Q^{2})$ from the proton structure function parameterized in the next-to-next-to-leading order of the perturbative theory at low $x$ values. The behavior of these ratios are considered with respect to the power-law behavior of the proton structure function. The results are compared with experimental data and the color dipole model bounds. These ratios are in good agreement with the HERA data throughout the fixed value of the invariant mass. The behavior of these ratios controlled by the nonlinear corrections at low values of $Q^{2}$. These results and comparison with HERA data demonstrate that the suggested method for the ratio of structure functions can be applied in analyses of the LHeC and FCC-eh projects.

Analytical approach for the approximate solution of the longitudinal structure function with respect to the GLR-MQ equation at small x

We show that the nonlinear corrections to the longitudinal structure function can be tamed the singularity behavior at low x values, with respect to GLR-MQ equations. This approach can determined the shadowing longitudinal structure function based on the shadowing corrections to the gluon and singlet quark structure functions. Comparing our results with HERA data show that at very low x this behavior completely tamed by these corrections.

The approximation method for calculation of the exponent of the gluon distribution-$λ_{g}$ and the structure function-$λ_{S}$ at low $x$

We present a set of formulae using the solution of the QCD Dokshitzer-Gribov-Lipatov-Altarelli-parisi (DGLAP) evolution equation to the extract of the exponent $λ_g$ gluon distribution and $λ_S$ structure function from the Regge- like behavior at low $x$. The exponents are found to be independent of $x$ and to increase linearly with ln$Q^{2}$ and compared with the most data from H1 Collaboration. We also calculated the structure function $F_{2}(x,Q^{2})$ and the gluon distribution $G(x,Q^{2})$ at low $x$ assuming the Regge- like behavior of the gluon distribution function at this limit and compared with NLO QCD fit to the H$1$ data, two Pomeron fit, multipole Pomeron exchange fit and MRST (A.D.Martin, R.G.Roberts, W.J.Stirling and R.S.Thorne), DL(A.Donnachie and P.V.Landshoff), NLO-GRV(M.Gluk, E.Reya and A.Vogt) fit results, respectively.

The behavior of the heavy-quarks structure functions at small-$x$

The behavior of the charm and bottom structure functions ($F_{k}^{i}(x,Q^{2})$, i=c,b; k=2,L) at small-$x$ is considered with respect to the hard-Pomeron and saturation models. Having checked that this behavior predicate the heavy flavor reduced cross sections concerning the unshadowed and shadowed corrections. We will show that the effective exponents for the unshadowed and saturation corrections are independent of $x$ and $Q^{2}$, and also the effective coefficients are dependent to $\ln{Q^{2}}$ compared to Donnachie-Landshoff (DL) and color dipole (CD) models.

A Phenomenological Solution Small $x$ to the Longitudinal Structure Function Dynamical Behavior

In this paper, the evolutions of longitudinal proton structure function have been obtained at small-$x$ up to next-to-next-to-leading order using a hard Pomeron behavior. In our paper, evolutions of gluonic as well as heavy longitudinal structure functions have been obtained separately and the total contributions have been calculated. The total longitudinal structure functions have been compared with results of Donnachie-Landshoff (DL) model, Color Dipole (CD) model, $k_{T}$ factorization and H1 data.

Analysis of the proton longitudinal structure function from the gluon distribution function

We make a critical, next-to-leading order, study of the relationship between the longitudinal structure function FL and the gluon distribution proposed in Cooper- Sarkar et al. (Z. Phys. C 39:281, 1988; Acta Phys. Pol. B 34:2911 2003), which is frequently used to extract the gluon distribution from the proton longitudinal structure function at small x. The gluon density is obtained by expanding at particular choices of the point of expansion and compared with the hard Pomeron behavior for the gluon density. Comparisons with H1 data are made and predictions for the proposed best approach are also provided.

Analytic Approach to the Approximate Solution of the Independent DGLAP Evolution Equations with Respect to the Hard-Pomeron Behavior

We show that it is possible to use hard-Pomeron behavior to the gluon distribution and singlet structure function at low $x$. We derive a second-order independent differential equation for the gluon distribution and the singlet structure function. In this approach, both singlet quarks and gluons have the same high-energy behavior at small $x$. These equations are derived from the next-to-leading order DGLAP evolution equations. All results can be consistently described in the framework of perturbative QCD, which shows an increase of gluon distribution and singlet structure functions as $x$ decreases.

Analytical solution of the longitudinal structure function $F_{L}$ in the leading and next-to-leading-order analysis at low x with respect to Laguerre polynomials method

The aim of the present paper is to apply the Laguerre polynomials method for the analytical solution of the Altarelli- Martinelli equation. We use this method of the low $x$ gluon distribution to the longitudinal structure function using MRST partons as input. Having checked that this model gives a good description of the data to predict of the longitudinal structure function at leading and next to leading order analysis at low $x$

Decoupling of the DGLAP evolution equations at next-to-next-to-leading order (NNLO) at low-x

We present a set of formulas to extract two second-order independent differential equations for the gluon and singlet distribution functions. Our results extend from the LO up to NNLO DGLAP evolution equations with respect to the hard-Pomeron behavior at low-x. In this approach, both singlet quarks and gluons have the same high-energy behavior at low-x. We solve the independent DGLAP evolution equations for the functions $F^{s}_{2}(x,Q^{2})$ and $G(x,Q^{2})$ as a function of their initial parameterization at the starting scale $Q^{2}_{0}$ . The results not only give striking support to the hard-Pomeron description of the low-x behavior, but give a rather clean test of perturbative QCD showing an increase of the gluon distribution and singlet structure functions as x decreases. We compared our numerical results with the published BDM (Block et al. Phys. Rev. D 77:094003 (2008)) gluon and singlet distributions, starting from their initial values at $Q^{2}_{0} =1 GeV^{2}$.

Geometrical scaling in charm structure function ratios

By using a Laplace-transform technique, we solve the next-to-leading-order master equation for charm production and derive a compact formula for the ratio $R^{c}=\frac{F^{^{c\overline{c}}}_L}{F^{^{c\overline{c}}}_2}$, which is useful for extracting the charm structure function from the reduced charm cross section, in particular, at DESY HERA, at small x. Our results show that this ratio is independent of xat small x. In this method of determining the ratios, we apply geometrical scaling in charm production in deep inelastic scattering (DIS). Our analysis shows that the renormalization scales have a sizable impact on the ratio Rcat high $Q^{2}$. Our results for the ratio of the charm structure functions are in a goodagreement with some phenomenological models.

Longitudinal Structure Function $F_{L}$ from Charm Structure Function $F^{c}_{2}$

We predict the effect of the charm structure function on the longitudinal structure function at small x. In NLO analysis we find that the hard Pomeron behavior gives a good description of $F_{L}$ and $F^{c}_{k}$ (k = 2,L) at small x values. We conclude that a direct relation between $F_{L}/F^{c}_{2}$ would provide useful information on how to measure longitudinal structure function at high $Q^{2}$ values. Having checked that this model gives a good description of the data, when compared with other models.

preprint2014arXiv

NLO corrections to the hard pomeron behavior of the charm structure functions $F^{c}_{k} (k = 2,L)$ at low x

We show that the charm structure functions $F^{c}_{k}$ have a hard pomeron behavior at low x, as the gluon distribution is dominated by the hard (Lipatov) pomeron at small x and all $Q^{2}$ values. It is shown that the charm structure functions obtained, using the gluon distribution functions, are in agreement with data from HERA in the next-to-leading analysis (NLO). Having checked that this behavior gives the charm structure functions exponent independent of x. With respect to the hard (Lipatov) pomeron for the low-x gluon distribution, we provide a compact formula for the ratio $R^{c} = F^{c}_{L}/F^{c}_{2}$ that is approximately independent of x at low x and its independent of the input gluon distribution function at all $Q^{2}$ values.

The predictions of the charm structure function exponents behaviour at low x in deep inelastic scattering

We use the hard (Lipatov) pomeron for the low-x gluon distribution and provide a compact formula for the ratio $R^{c} =F_{L}^{c}/F_{2}^{c}$ that is useful to extract the charm structure function from the reduced charm cross-section, in particular at DESY HERA. Our results show that this ratio is independent of x and independent of the DGLAP evolution of the gluon PDF. As a result, we show that the charm structure function and the reduced charm cross-section exponents do not have the same behaviour at very low x. This difference is independent of the input gluon distribution functions and predicts the non-linear effects and some evidence for shadowing and antishadowing at HERA and RHIC.

The Ratio of the Charm Structure Functions $F^{c}_{k}(k = 2, L)$ at Low x in Deep Inelastic Scattering with Respect to the Expansion Method

We study the expansion method for the gluon distribution function at low x values and calculate the charm structure functions in the LO and NLO analysis. Our results provide a compact formula for the ratio $R^{c} =F^{c}_{L}/F^{c}_{2}$, which is approximately independent of x and the details of the parton distribution function at low x values. This ratio could be a good probe of the charm structure function $F^{c}_{2}$ in the proton deduced from the reduced charm cross sections at DESY HERA. These results show that the charm structure functions obtained are in agreement with HERA experimental data and other theoretical models.
