Hyperbolic Anderson model 2: Strichartz estimates and Stratonovich setting

We study a wave equation in dimension $d\in \{1,2\}$ with a multiplicative space-time Gaussian noise. The existence and uniqueness of the Stratonovich solution is obtained under some conditions imposed on the Gaussian noise. The strategy is to develop some Strichartz type estimates for the wave kernel in weighted Besov spaces, by which we can prove the wellposedness of an associated Young-type equation. Those Strichartz bounds are of independent interest.

A nonlinear Schr{ö}dinger equation with fractional noise

We study a stochastic Schr{ö}dinger equation with a quadratic nonlinearity and a space-time fractional perturbation, in space dimension less than 3. When the Hurst index is large enough, we prove local well-posedness of the problem using classical arguments. However, for a small Hurst index, even the interpretation of the equation needs some care. In this case, a renormalization procedure must come into the picture, leading to a Wick-type interpretation of the model. Our fixed-point argument then involves some specific regularization properties of the Schr{ö}dinger group, which allows us to cope with the strong irregularity of the solution.

Moment estimates for some renormalized parabolic Anderson models

The theory of regularity structures enables the definition of the following parabolic Anderson model in a very rough environment: $\partial_{t} u_{t}(x) = \frac12 Δu_{t}(x) + u_{t}(x) \, \dot W_{t}(x)$, for $t\in\mathbb{R}_{+}$ and $x\in \mathbb{R}^{d}$, where $\dot W_{t}(x)$ is a Gaussian noise whose space time covariance function is singular. In this rough context, we shall give some information about the moments of $u_{t}(x)$ when the stochastic heat equation is interpreted in the Skorohod as well as the Stratonovich sense. Of special interest is the critical case, for which one observes a blowup of moments for large times.

Construction and Skorohod representation of a fractional K-rough path

We go ahead with the study initiated in [3] about a heat-equation model with non-linear perturbation driven by a space-time fractional noise. Using general results from Hairer's theory of regularity structures, the analysis reduces to the construction of a so-called K-rough path (above the noise), a notion we introduce here as a compromise between regularity structures formalism and rough paths theory. The exhibition of such a K-rough path at order three allows us to cover the whole roughness domain that extends up to the standard space-time white noise situation. We also provide a representation of this abstract K-rough path in terms of Skorohod stochastic integrals.

Numerical Schemes for Rough Parabolic Equations

This paper is devoted to the study of numerical approximation schemes for a class of parabolic equations on (0, 1) perturbed by a non-linear rough signal. It is the continuation of [8, 7], where the existence and uniqueness of a solution has been established. The approach combines rough paths methods with standard considerations on discretizing stochastic PDEs. The results apply to a geometric 2-rough path, which covers the case of the multidimensional fractional Brownian motion with Hurst index H \textgreater{} 1/3.

On the rough-paths approach to non-commutative stochastic calculus

We study different possibilities to apply the principles of rough paths theory in a non-commutative probability setting. First, we extend previous results obtained by Capitaine, Donati-Martin and Victoir in Lyons' original formulation of rough paths theory. Then we settle the bases of an alternative non-commutative integration procedure, in the spirit of Gubinelli's controlled paths theory, and which allows us to revisit the constructions of Biane and Speicher in the free Brownian case. New approximation results are also derived from the strategy.

On a modelled rough heat equation

We use the formalism of Hairer's regularity structures theory \cite{hai-14} to study a heat equation with non-linear perturbation driven by a space-time fractional noise. Different regimes are observed, depending on the global pathwise roughness of the noise. To this end, and following the procedure exhibited in \cite{hai-14}, the equation is first "lifted" into some abstract "regularity structure" and therein solved through a fixed-point argument. Then we construct a consistent "model" above the fractional noise, by relying on a smooth Fourier-type approximation of the process.

On L2 modulus of continuity of Brownian local times and Riesz potentials

This article is concerned with modulus of continuity of Brownian local times. Specifically, we focus on 3 closely related problems: (a) Limit theorem for a Brownian modulus of continuity involving Riesz potentials, where the limit law is an intricate Gaussian mixture. (b) Central limit theorems for the projections of L2 modulus of continuity for a 1-dimensional Brownian motion. (c) Extension of the second result to a 2-dimensional Brownian motion. Our proofs rely on a combination of stochastic calculus and Malliavin calculus tools, plus a thorough analysis of singular integrals.

Invariance principles for homogeneous sums of free random variables

We extend, in the free probability framework, an invariance principle for multilinear homogeneous sums with low influences recently established in [E. Mossel, R. O'Donnell and K. Oleszkiewicz (2010). Noise stability of functions with low influences: invariance and optimality. {\it Ann. Math.} {\bf 171}, no. 1, 295-341]. To do so, a hypercontractivity property for those homogeneous sums is necessary, and to prove it has turned out to be our main task. Finally, we deduce from our extension several universality phenomenons, in the spirit of the paper [I. Nourdin, G. Peccati and G. Reinert (2010). Invariance principles for homogeneous sums: universality of Gaussian Wiener chaos. {\it Ann. Probab.} {\bf 38}, no. 5, 1947-1985].

A discrete approach to Rough Parabolic Equations

By combining the formalism of \cite{RHE} with a discrete approach close to the considerations of \cite{Davie}, we interpret and solve the rough partial differential equation $dy_t=A y_t \, dt+\sum_{i=1}^m f_i(y_t) \, dx^i_t$ ($t\in [0,T]$) on a compact domain $\mathcal{O}$ of $\R^n$, where $A$ is a rather general elliptic operator of $L^p(\mathcal{O})$ ($p>1$), $f_i(\vp)(ξ):=f_i(\vp(ξ))$ and $x$ is the generator of a $2$-rough path. The (global) existence, uniqueness and continuity of a solution is established under classical regularity assumptions for $f_i$. Some identification procedures are also provided in order to justify our interpretation of the problem.

Malliavin calculus for fractional heat equation

In this article, we give some existence and smoothness results for the law of the solution to a stochastic heat equation driven by a finite dimensional fractional Brownian motion with Hurst parameter $H>1/2$. Our results rely on recent tools of Young integration for convolutional integrals combined with stochastic analysis methods for the study of laws of random variables defined on a Wiener space.

The Stratonovich heat equation : a continuity result and weak approximations

We consider a Stratonovich heat equation in $(0,1)$ with a nonlinear multiplicative noise driven by a trace-class Wiener process. First, the equation is shown to have a unique mild solution. Secondly, convolutional rough paths techniques are used to provide an almost sure continuity result for the solution with respect to the solution of the 'smooth' equation obtained by replacing the noise with an absolutely continuous process. This continuity result is then exploited to prove weak convergence results based on Donsker and Kac-Stroock type approximations of the noise.

Convergence of Wigner integrals to the tetilla law

If x and y are two free semicircular random variables in a non-commutative probability space (A,E) and have variance one, we call the law of 2^{-1/2}(xy+yx) the tetilla law (and we denote it by T), because of the similarity between the form of its density and the shape of the tetilla cheese from Galicia. In this paper, we prove that a unit-variance sequence {F_n} of multiple Wigner integrals converges in distribution to T if and only if E[F_n^4]--> E[T^4] and E[F_n^6]--> E[T^6]. This result should be compared with limit theorems of the same flavor, recently obtained by Kemp, Nourdin, Peccati & Speicher and Nourdin & Peccati.

Fourth Moment Theorem and q-Brownian Chaos

In 2005, Nualart and Peccati showed the so-called Fourth Moment Theorem asserting that, for a sequence of normalized multiple Wiener-Itô integrals to converge to the standard Gaussian law, it is necessary and sufficient that its fourth moment tends to 3. A few years later, Kemp et al. extended this theorem to a sequence of normalized multiple Wigner integrals, in the context of the free Brownian motion. The q-Brownian motion, q in (-1,1], introduced by the physicists Frisch and Bourret in 1970 and mathematically studied by Bozejko and Speicher in 1991, interpolates between the classical Brownian motion (q=1) and the free Brownian motion (q=0), and is one of the nicest examples of non-commutative processes. The question we shall solve in this paper is the following: what does the Fourth Moment Theorem become when dealing with a q-Brownian motion?

A Milstein-type scheme without Levy area terms for SDEs driven by fractional Brownian motion

In this article, we study the numerical approximation of stochastic differential equations driven by a multidimensional fractional Brownian motion (fBm) with Hurst parameter greater than 1/3. We introduce an implementable scheme for these equations, which is based on a second order Taylor expansion, where the usual Levy area terms are replaced by products of increments of the driving fBm. The convergence of our scheme is shown by means of a combination of rough paths techniques and error bounds for the discretisation of the Levy area terms.
