Three-dimensional compact Heterotic solitons with parallel torsion

We obtain a rigidity result for compact three-dimensional Heterotic solitons with parallel non-trivial torsion. We show that they are either hyperbolic three-manifolds or compact quotients of the Heisenberg group equipped with a left-invariant metric. In particular, the latter arise both as solitons with completely skew-symmetric torsion as well as with non-vanishing twistorial component. As a corollary, we obtain the universal bound −24-24 for the scalar curvature of Heterotic solitons with parallel skew-symmetric torsion, which prevents it from being arbitrarily large.

Reducible Riemannian manifolds with conformal product structures

We study conformal product structures on compact reducible Riemannian manifolds, and show that under a suitable technical assumption, the underlying Riemannian mani\-folds are either conformally flat, or triple products, \emph{i.e.} locally isometric to Riemannian manifolds of the form (M,g)(M,g) with M=M1×M2×M3M=M_1\times M_2\times M_3 and g=e2fg1+g2+g3g=e^{2f}g_1+g_2+g_3, where gig_i is a Riemannian metric on MiM_i, for i∈{1,2,3}i\in\{1,2,3\}, and f∈C∞(M1×M2)f\in C^\infty(M_1\times M_2).

Generalized Killing spinors and Lagrangian graphs

We study generalized Killing spinors on the standard sphere S3\mathbb{S}^3, which turn out to be related to Lagrangian embeddings in the nearly Kähler manifold S3×S3S^3\times S^3 and to great circle flows on S3\mathbb{S}^3. Using our methods we generalize a well known result of Gluck and Gu concerning divergence-free geodesic vector fields on the sphere and we show that the space of Lagrangian submanifolds of S3×S3S^3\times S^3 has at least three connected components.

Infinitesimal Einstein Deformations of Nearly Kähler Metrics

It is well-known that every 6-dimensional strictly nearly Kähler manifold (M,g,J)(M,g,J) is Einstein with positive scalar curvature scal>0scal>0. Moreover, one can show that the space EE of co-closed primitive (1,1)-forms on MM is stable under the Laplace operator ΔΔ. Let E(a)E(a) denote the aa-eigenspace of the restriction of ΔΔ to EE. If MM is compact, we prove that the moduli space of infinitesimal Einstein deformations of the nearly Kähler metric gg is naturally isomorphic to the direct sum E(scal/15)⊕E(scal/5)⊕E(2scal/5)E(scal/15)\oplus E(scal/5)\oplus E(2scal/5). It is known that the last summand is itself isomorphic with the moduli space of infinitesimal nearly Kähler deformations.
