Analysis of accretion disk around a black hole in dRGT massive gravity

We show the analysis of a thin accretion disk around a static and spherically symmetric black hole in dRGT massive gravity. We present the accretion disk analysis in a gravitational theory with a nonzero graviton mass. Also, we study the event horizons of the black hole and we calculate the equations of motion and effective potential. In the following, we obtain the specific energy, specific angular momentum, and angular velocity of the particles which move in circular orbits. In addition, we plot the effective potentials for two cases and we show the locations of stable circular orbits. At last, we show the possibility of constraining the parameter space of dRGT massive gravity by the astrophysical gamma-ray bursts.

Cosmology and perturbations in tachyonic massive gravity

As massive gravity and its extensions offer physically well-defined gravitational theories with a nonzero graviton mass, we present a new extension of the de Rham-Gabadadze-Tolley (dRGT)massive gravity, which is tachyonic massive gravity theory. We firstly introduce the new extension of the dRGT massive gravity, constructed by adding a tachyonic term. We then find the cosmological background equations, and present the analysis of self-accelerating solutions. We examine the tensor perturbations to calculate the dispersion relation of gravitational waves (GWs). In a special case, we consider a constant tachyon potential for the tachyon field, and calculate the equations of motion and self-accelerating solutions. Finally, we investigate the background perturbations, which include tensor, vector, and scalar perturbations in this case. We calculate the dispersion relation of GWs in the FLRW cosmology in a tachyonic massive gravity theory. These analyses provide potential inputs to future applications in cosmology and GWs propagation.

Cosmology in Brans-Dicke-de Rham-Gabadadze-Tolley massive gravity

We introduce the Brans-Dick de Rham-Gabadadze-Tolley massive gravity theory which is the new extension of nonlinear massive gravity. We demonstrate a detailed study of the cosmological properties of this theory of gravity, and we show the transformation of the Jordan frame to the Einstein frame. We obtain the cosmological background equations and show the analyses of self-accelerating solutions for explaining the accelerated expansion of the Universe. In the following, we analyze the background perturbations, which consist of tensor, vector, and scalar perturbations within the framework of the Brans-Dick dRGT massive gravity in the Friedman-Lemaıtre-Robertson-Walker cosmology.

Cosmology of Dirac-Born-Infeld dRGT massive gravity

We introduce the cosmological analysis of the Dirac-Born-Infeld dRGT massive gravity theory which is a new extension of de Rham-Gabadadze-Tolley (dRGT) massive gravity. In this theory, we consider the Dirac-Born-Infeld (DBI) scalar field which is coupled to the graviton field. Moreover, we perform the cosmological background equations, and we demonstrate the self-accelerating background solutions. We show that the theory consists of self-accelerating solutions with an effective cosmological constant. In the following, we exhibit tensor perturbations analyses and achieve the dispersion relation of gravitational waves. We analyze the propagation of gravitational perturbation in the Friedmann-Lemaître-Robertson-Walker cosmology in the DBI dRGT massive gravity. Finally, we present the vector and scalar perturbations to show the stability conditions of the theory.

Tachyon Inflation in Teleparallel Gravity

We present a tachyonic field inflationary model in a teleparallel framework. We show that tachyonic coupled with the f(T) gravity model can describe the inflation era in which f(T) is an arbitrary function of torsion scalar T. For this purpose, dynamical behavior of the tachyonic field in different potentials is studied, it is shown that the tachyonic field with these potentials can be an effective candidate for inflation. Then, we discuss slow-roll conditions and show that by the appropriate choice of the parameters, the inflation era can be explained via this model. Finally, we argue that our model not only satisfies the result of BICEP2, Keck Array and Plank for the upper limit of $r < .012$ but also, the obtained value for spectral index $n_{s}$ is compatible with the results of Plank and also Plank + WMAP + HighL + BAO at the 68% confidence level.

Higgs Inflation and General Initial Conditions

Higgs field of particle physics can play the role of the inflaton in the early universe, if it is non-minimally coupled to gravity. The Higgs inflation scenario predicts a small tensor to scalar ratio: $r\simeq 0.003$. Although this value is consistent with the upper bound $r < 0.12$ given by BICEP2/Keck Array and Planck data, but it is not at their maximum likelihood point: $r\simeq 0.05$. Inflationary observables depend not only on the inflationary models, but also depend on the initial conditions of inflation. Changing initial state of inflation can improve the value of $r$. In this work, we study the Higgs inflation model under general initial conditions and show that there is a subset of these general initial conditions which leads to enhancement of $r$. Then we show that this region of parameter space is consistent with non-Gaussianity bound.

Decaying Vector Dark Matter as an Explanation for the 3.5 keV Line from Galaxy Clusters

We present a Vector Dark Matter (VDM) model that explains the 3.5 keV line recently observed in the XMM-Newton observatory data from galaxy clusters. In this model, dark matter is composed of two vector bosons, $V$ and $V^\prime$, which couple to the photon through an effective generalized Chern-Simons coupling, $g_V$. $V^\prime$ is slightly heavier than $V$ with a mass splitting $m_{V^\prime}-m_V\simeq 3.5$~keV. The decay of $V^\prime$ to $V$ and a photon gives rise to the 3.5~keV line. The production of $V$ and $V^\prime$ takes place in the early universe within the freeze-in framework through the effective $g_V$ coupling when $m_{V^\prime}<T<Λ$, $Λ$ being the cut-off above which the effective $g_V$ coupling is not valid. We introduce a high energy model that gives rise to the $g_V$ coupling at low energies. To do this, $V$ and $V^\prime$ are promoted to gauge bosons of spontaneously broken new $U(1)_V$ and $U(1)_{V^\prime}$ gauge symmetries, respectively. The high energy sector includes milli-charged chiral fermions that lead to the $g_V$ coupling at low energy via triangle diagrams.

Natural explanation for 130 GeV photon line within vector boson dark matter model

We present a dark matter model for explaining the observed 130 GeV photon line from the galaxy center. The dark matter candidate is a vector boson of mass $m_V$ with a dimensionless coupling to the photon and $Z$ boson. The model predicts a double line photon spectrum at energies equal to $m_V$ and $m_V(1-m_Z^2/4m_V^2)$ originating from the dark matter annihilation. The same coupling leads to a mono-photon plus missing energy signal at the LHC. The entire perturbative parameter space can be probed by the 14 TeV LHC run. The model has also a good prospect of being probed by direct dark matter searches as well as the measurement of the rates of $h \to γγ$ and $h \to Z γ$ at the LHC.

VDM: A model for Vector Dark Matter

We construct a model based on a new $U(1)_X$ gauge symmetry and a discrete $Z_2$ symmetry under which the new gauge boson is odd. The model contains new complex scalars which carry $U(1)_X$ charge but are singlets of the Standard Model. The $U(1)_X$ symmetry is spontaneously broken but the $Z_2$ symmetry is maintained, making the new gauge boson a dark matter candidate. In the minimal version there is only one complex scalar field but by extending the number of scalars to two, the model will enjoy rich phenomenology which comes in various phases. In one phase, CP is spontaneously broken. In the other phase, an accidental $Z_2$ symmetry appears which makes one of the scalars stable and therefore a dark matter candidate along with the vector boson. We discuss the discovery potential of the model by colliders as well as the direct dark matter searches.
