A collocation method based on extended cubic B-splines for numerical solutions of the Klein-Gordon equation

A generalization of classical cubic B-spline functions with a parameter is used as basis in the collocation method. Some initial boundary value problems constructed on the nonlinear Klein-gordon equation are solved by the proposed method for extension various parameters. The coupled system derived as a result of the reduction of the time order of the equation is integrated in time by the Crank-Nicolson method. After linearizing the nonlinear term, the collocation procedure is implemented. Adapting the initial conditions provides a linear iteration system for the fully integration of the equation. The validity of the method is investigated by measuring the maximum errors between analytical and the numerical solutions. The absolute relative changes of the conservation laws describing the energy and the momentum are computed for both problems.

Exact Solutions to Some Conformable Time Fractional Equations in Benjamin-Bona-Mahony Family

The conformable time fractional forms of some partial differential equations are solved in the study. The existence of chain rule and the derivative of composite function enable the equations to be reduced to some ordinary differential equations by using some particular wave transformations. The modified Kudryashov method implemented to derive the exact solutions for the Benjamin-Bona Mahony (BBM), the symmetric BBM and the equal width (EW) equations in the conformable fractional time derivative forms. The obtained explicit solutions are illustrated for some time fractional orders in the interval $(0,1]$.

On the numerical solution of the Klein-Gordon equation by Exponential B-spline collocation method

In the present study, we solve initial boundary value problem construted on nonlinear Klein-Gordon equation. The collocation method on exponential cubic B-spline functions forming a set of basis for the functions defined in the same interval is set up for the numerical approach. The efficiency and validity of the proposed method are determined by computing the error between the numerical and the analytical solutions. The preservation of conserved quantities is also a good indicator of validity of the method.

Simulations of transport in one dimension

In this study, two initial boundary value problems for one dimensional advection-dispersion equation are solved by differential quadrature method based on sine cardinal functions. Pure advection problem modeling transport of conservative pollutants and fade out problem are simulated successfully by the proposed method. The time integration of the space discretized system is accomplished by using various single step and multi step methods covering forward, modified and improved Euler methods, Runge-Kutta, explicit Adams-Bashforth and implicit Adams-Moulton predictor-corrector methods of different orders. The errors between analytical and numerical solutions for both cases are measured by the use of discrete maximum norm. The numerical results are compared with some earlier results obtained by various methods.

Solitary wave simulations of the Boussinesq Systems

In the study, the collocation method based on exponential cubic B-spline functions is proposed to solve one dimensional Boussinesq systems numerically. Two initial boundary value problems for Regularized and Classical Boussinesq systems modeling motion of traveling waves are considered. The accuracy of the method is validated by measuring the error between the numerical and analytical solutions. The numerical solutions obtained by various values of free parameter $p$ are compared with some solutions in literature.
