2D Ising Field Theory in a Magnetic Field: The Yang-Lee Singularity

We study Ising Field Theory (the scaling limit of Ising model near the Curie critical point) in pure imaginary external magnetic field. We put particular emphasis on the detailed structure of the Yang-Lee edge singularity. While the leading singular behavior is controlled by the Yang-Lee fixed point ($=$ minimal CFT ${\cal M}_{2/5}$), the fine structure of the subleading singular terms is determined by the effective action which involves a tower of irrelevant operators. We use numerical data obtained through the "Truncated Free Fermion Space Approach" to estimate the couplings associated with two least irrelevant operators. One is the operator $T{\bar T}$, and we use the universal properties of the $T{\bar T}$ deformation to fix the contributions of higher orders in the corresponding coupling parameter $α$. Another irrelevant operator we deal with is the descendant $L_{-4}{\bar L}_{-4}ϕ$ of the relevant primary $ϕ$ in ${\cal M}_{2/5}$. The significance of this operator is that it is the lowest dimension operator which breaks integrability of the effective theory. We also establish analytic properties of the particle mass $M$ ($=$ inverse correlation length) as the function of complex magnetic field.

Classical Conformal Blocks and Painleve VI

We study the classical c\to \infty limit of the Virasoro conformal blocks. We point out that the classical limit of the simplest nontrivial null-vector decoupling equation on a sphere leads to the Painleve VI equation. This gives the explicit representation of generic four-point classical conformal block in terms of the regularized action evaluated on certain solution of the Painleve VI equation. As a simple consequence, the monodromy problem of the Heun equation is related to the connection problem for the Painleve VI.

Ising Spectroscopy II: Particles and poles at T>Tc

I discuss particle content of the Ising field theory (the scaling limit of the Ising model in a magnetic field), in particular the evolution of its mass spectrum under the change of the scaling parameter. I consider both real and pure imaginary magnetic field. Here I address the high-temperature regime, where the spectrum of stable particles is relatively simple (there are from one to three particles, depending on the parameter). My goal is to understand analytic continuations of the masses to the domain of the parameter where they no longer exist as the stable particles. I use the natural tool -- the $2\to 2$ elastic scattering amplitude, with its poles associated with the stable particles, virtual and resonance states in a standard manner. Concentrating attention on the "real" poles (those corresponding to stable and virtual states) I propose a scenario on how the pattern of the poles evolves from the integrable point $T=T_c,\ H\neq 0$ to the free particle point $T>T_c,\ H=0$, and then, along the pure imaginary $H$, to the Yang-Lee critical point. Waypoints along this evolution path are located using TFFSA data. I also speculate about likely behavior of some of the resonance poles.
