Effective global generation on varieties with numerically trivial canonical class

We prove a Fujita-type theorem for varieties with numerically trivial canonical bundle using properties of semihomogeneous bundles on abelian varieties. We combine our results with work of Riess on compact hyperkähler manifolds and work of Mukai, Pareschi and Yoshioka to obtain effective global generation statements for certain moduli spaces of sheaves on abelian surfaces. Among these is the statment that if $\cL$ is an ample line bundle on the Hilbert square $S^{[2]}$ of an abelian surface $S,$ then $\cL^{\otimes m}$ is globally generated for $m \geq 3.$

Toric Newton-Okounkov functions with an application to the rationality of certain Seshadri constants on surfaces

We initiate a combinatorial study of Newton-Okounkov functions on toric varieties with an eye on the rationality of asymptotic invariants of line bundles. In the course of our efforts we identify a combinatorial condition which ensures a controlled behavior of the appropriate Newton-Okounkov function on a toric surface. Our approach yields the rationality of many Seshadri constants that have not been settled before.

Very general monomial valuations of $\mathbb{P}^2$ and a Nagata type conjecture

It is well known that multi-point Seshadri constants for a small number $s$ of points in the projective plane are submaximal. It is predicted by the Nagata conjecture that their values are maximal for $s\geq 9$ points. Tackling the problem in the language of valuations one can make sense of $s$ points for any positive real $s\geq 1$. We show somewhat surprisingly that a Nagata-type conjecture should be valid for $s\geq 8+1/36$ points and we compute explicitly all Seshadri constants (expressed here as the asymptotic maximal vanishing element) for $s\leq 7+1/9$.

Infinitesimal Newton-Okounkov bodies and jet separation

In this paper we explore the connection between asymptotic base loci and Newton-Okounkov bodies associated to infinitesimal flags. Analogously to the surface case, we obtain complete characterizations of augmented and restricted base loci. Interestingly enough, an integral part of the argument is a study of the relationship between certain simplices contained in Newton-Okoukov bodies and jet separation; our results also lead to a convex geometric description of moving Seshadri constants.

Vanishing sequences and Okounkov bodies

We define and study the vanishing sequence along a real valuation of sections of a line bundle on a projective variety. Building on previous work of the first author with Huayi Chen, we prove an equidistribution result for vanishing sequences of large powers of a big line bundle, and study the limit measure. In particular, the latter is described in terms of restricted volumes for divisorial valuations. We also show on an example that the associated concave function on the Okounkov body can be discontinuous at boundary points.

On positivity and base loci of vector bundles

The aim of this note is to shed some light on the relationships among some notions of positivity for vector bundles that arose in recent decades. Our purpose is to study several of the positivity notions studied for vector bundles with some notions of asymptotic base loci that can be defined on the variety itself, rather than on the projectivization of the given vector bundle. We relate some of the different notions conjectured to be equivalent with the help of these base loci, and we show that these can help simplify the various relationships between the positivity properties present in the literature. In particular, we define augmented and restricted base loci $\mathbb{B}_+ (E)$ and $\mathbb{B}_- (E)$ of a vector bundle $E$ on the variety $X$, as generalizations of the corresponding notions studied extensively for line bundles. As it turns out, the asymptotic base loci defined here behave well with respect to the natural map induced by the projectivization of the vector bundle $E$.
