On (Global) Unique Continuation Properties of the Fractional Discrete Laplacian

We study various qualitative and quantitative (global) unique continuation properties for the fractional discrete Laplacian. We show that while the fractional Laplacian enjoys striking rigidity properties in the form of (global) unique continuation properties, the fractional discrete Laplacian does not enjoy these in general. While discretization thus counteracts the strong rigidity properties of the continuum fractional Laplacian, by discussing quantitative forms of unique continuation, we illustrate that these properties can be recovered if exponentially small (in the lattice size) correction terms are added. This in particular allows us to deduce uniform stability properties for a discrete, linear inverse problem for the fractional Laplacian. We complement these observations with a transference principle and the discussion of these properties on the discrete torus.

Discrete Carleman estimates and three balls inequalities

We prove logarithmic convexity estimates and three balls inequalities for discrete magnetic Schrödinger operators. These quantitatively connect the discrete setting in which the unique continuation property fails and the continuum setting in which the unique continuation property is known to hold under suitable regularity assumptions. As a key auxiliary result which might be of independent interest we present a Carleman estimate for these discrete operators.

Hardy uniqueness principle for the linear Schrodinger equation on quantum regular trees

In this paper we consider the linear Schrodinger equation (LSE) on a regular tree with the last generation of edges of infinite length and analyze some unique continuation properties. The first part of the paper deals with the LSE on the real line with a piece-wise constant coefficient and uses this result in the context of regular trees. The second part treats the case of a LSE with a real potential in the framework of a star-shaped graph.

Convexity Properties of Discrete Schrödinger evolutions and Hardy's Uncertainty Principle

In this paper we give log-convexity properties for solutions to discrete Schrödinger equations with different discrete versions of Gaussian decay at two different times. For free evolutions, we use complex analysis arguments to derive these properties, while in a perturbative setting we use a preliminar log-convexity result in order to get these properties. Then, by proving a Carleman inequality we conclude, in one of the cases under study, a discrete version of Hardy's Uncertainty Principle.

Discrete Uncertainty Principles and Virial Identities

In this paper we review the Heisenberg uncertainty principle in a discrete setting and, as in the classical uncertainty principle, we give it a dynamical sense related to the discrete Schrödinger equation. We study the convergence of the relation to the classical uncertainty principle, and, as a counterpart, we also obtain another discrete uncertainty relation that does not have an analogous form in the continuous case. Moreover, in the case of the Discrete Fourier Transform, we give a inequality that allows us to relate the minimizer to the Gaussian.
