Associated production of heavy Higgs bosons with a $b\bar{b}$ pair in the Nonholomorphic MSSM and LHC searches

In the NonHolomorphic Supersymmetric Standard Model (NHSSM), the Yukawa couplings of the bottom quark ($y_b$) and the tau lepton ($y_τ$) might receive substantial supersymmetric (SUSY) radiative corrections which have prominent dependencies on the NHSSM-specific trilinear soft parameters, $A_b^\prime$ and $A_τ^\prime$, respectively, in addition to their well-known dependence on $\tanβ$ as is already present in the Minimal SUSY Standard Model (MSSM). We study to what extent these could affect the production cross sections of the heavy Higgs bosons ($H$ and $A$) in association with a pair of $b$-quarks and their decay branching ratios, in particular, to a $τ\barτ$ pair and compare them with those obtained in the MSSM. Requiring compliance with the recently observed upper bounds on the product of their total cross-section and the branching ratio to $τ\barτ$ at the 13 TeV run of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), with data worth 139 fb$^{-1}$, results in an altered exclusion region in the customary $m_A-\tanβ$ plane in the framework of the NHSSM when compared to what is derived by the LHC experiments within an MSSM setup. Such alterations are estimated to be pronounced only for large $\tanβ$ ($\geq 40$) and for large, negative $A_b^\prime$ when one finds a reinforced exclusion of the $m_A-\tanβ$ plane with an excluded $m_A$ value larger by $\approx 200$ GeV, compared to the MSSM case, at $\tanβ=60$. On the other hand, the maximum relaxation in $m_A$, for a similarly large but positive $A_b^\prime$, barely exceeds $\approx 100$ GeV as a result of complementary variations in production cross-sections and decay branching fractions of the heavy, neutral Higgs bosons.

Measuring $CP$ nature of $hτ{\barτ}$ coupling at $e^-p$ collider

The proposed future $e^- p$ collider provides sufficient energies to produce the Standard Model Higgs Boson ($h$) through $W^\pm$ and $Z$-Boson fusion in charged and neutral current modes, respectively and to measure its properties. We take this opportunity to investigate the prospect of measuring the $CP$ properties of $h$ through $h \to τ^+ τ^-$, where $τ^-\,\left(τ^+\right)$ decays to a charged pion $π^-\,\left(π^+\right)$ and a neutral pion $π^0$ in association with neutrino (anti-neutrino). An interesting $CP$ sensitive angular observable $α_{\rm CP}$ between the two $τ$-leptons decay plane in the $π^+π^-$ centre of mass frame is proposed and investigated in this work. For fixed electron energy of 150 GeV along with 7 (50) TeV of proton energy, the $CP$ phase can be measured approximately to $25^\circ$ ($14^\circ$) at integrated luminosity of 1~ab$^{-1}$ for $-$80\% polarised electron at 95\% confidence level.

$M_{T2}$ as a probe of CP phase in $h \rightarrow ττ$ at the LHC

We propose to utilize the transverse mass variable $M_{T2}$ and it's descendant $M_{2Cons}$ for constraining the CP admixture of the tau lepton Yukawa coupling at the LHC. We have considered the tau lepton pair produced from the Higgs boson with each tau decays to a charged pion and a neutrino, $τ^{\pm} \rightarrow π^{\pm} ν_τ$. Recently, for this channel, the LHC has employed the impact parameter method to measure the CP mixing angle of tau lepton Yukawa coupling with large uncertainty. The observables we propose here can be measured in the lab frame without the impact parameter measurement and in turn, give a complementary probe of the CP admixture of tau lepton Yukawa. The CP mixing angle, with our method, can be constrained up to 17$^{\circ}$ (7$^{\circ}$) with 300 (3000) $fb^{-1}$ of integrated luminosity at the 14 LHC.

Collider signature of $U_1$ Leptoquark and constraints from $b\to c$ observables

One of the most popular models that is known to be able to solve the lepton flavour universality violating charged ($b\to c$) and neutral current ($b\to s$) anomalies is the Leptoquark Model. In this work we examine the {\it multijet} + $\mET$ collider signature of a vector leptoquark ($U_1$) which has the potential to mediate both the charged and neutral current processes at tree level. From our collider analysis we derive the exclusion limits on mass for the $U_1$ leptoquark at 95\% C.L. at the current and future experiment of the Large Hadron Collider. We also calculate the effect of such a leptoquark in $b\to c$ observables.

Mass reconstruction with $M_2$ under constraint in semi-invisible production at a hadron collider

The mass-constraining variable $M_2$, a $(1+3)$-dimensional natural successor of extremely popular $M_{T2}$, possesses an array of rich features having the ability to use on-shell mass constraints in semi-invisible production at a hadron collider. In this work, we investigate the consequence of applying a heavy resonance mass-shell constraint in the context of a semi-invisible antler decay topology produced at the LHC. Our proposed variable, under additional constraint, develops a new kink solution at the true masses. This enables one to determine the invisible particle mass simultaneously with the parent particle mass from these events. We analyze in a way to measure this kink optimally, exploring the origin and the properties of such interesting characteristics. We also study the event reconstruction capability inferred from this new variable and find that the resulting momenta are unique and well correlated with true invisible particle momenta.

Reconstructing semi-invisible events in resonant tau pair production from Higgs

We study the possibility of utilising the constrained mass variable, $M_{2Cons}$, in reconstructing the semi-invisible events originated from a resonant production at the LHC. While this proposal is effective for any similar antler type production mechanism, here we demonstrate with potentially interesting scenario, when the Higgs boson decays into a pair of third generation $τ$ leptons. Buoyed with a relatively large Yukawa coupling, the LHC has already started exploring this pair production to investigate the properties of Higgs in the leptonic sector. Dominant signatures through hadronic decay of tau, associated with invisible neutrinos compound the difficulty in the reconstruction of such events. Exploiting the already existing Higgs mass bound, this new method provides a unique event reconstruction, together with a significant enhancement in terms of efficiency over the existing methods.

Constrained $\sqrt{\hat{S}_{min}}$ and reconstructing with semi-invisible production at hadron colliders

Mass variable \sqrt{\hat{S}_{min}} and its variants were constructed by minimising the parton level center of mass energy that is consistent with all inclusive measurements. They were proposed to have the ability to measure mass scale of new physics in a fully model independent way. In this work we relax the criteria by assuming the availability of partial informations of new physics events and thus constraining this mass variable even further. Starting with two different classes of production topology, i.e. antler and non-antler, we demonstrate the usefulness of these variables to constrain the unknown masses. This discussion is illustrated with different examples, from the standard model Higgs production and beyond standard model resonance productions leading to semi-invisible production. We also utilise these constrains to reconstruct the semi-invisible events with the momenta of invisible particles and thus improving the measurements to reveal the properties of new physics.

Mass determination and event reconstruction at Large Hadron Collider

After successful discovery of the Higgs boson, the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) would confront the major challenge in searching for new physics and new particles. Any such observation necessitates the determination of mass and other quantum numbers like spin, polarisation etc. Many of our theories beyond the Standard Model (BSM) motivated from profound experimental indication of dark matter (DM), trying to accommodate them as some stable BSM particles within these theory. In such scenario, any production of heavy resonance of new particles eventually decay semi-invisibly resulting at least two stable particles in the final state. Reconstruction of these events at hadron colliders together with the mass determination of DM or intermediate particles is challenging and center to this present analysis. In this work we discuss some mass restricting way that can lead us to determine the new particle mass when it decays semi-invisibly. We will also present a new method which can be used for the full reconstruction of the event in the above scenario.
