Electron flow in Monolayer Molybdenum Disulfide Quantum Dot with Magnetic Flux

We study the Dirac electron scattering problem on a potential barrier in a circular quantum dot of Monolayer Molybdenum Disulfide quantum dot MoS2 subjected to magnetic flux. By solving Dirac's equation, we formulate analytical expressions for the eigenstates, scattering coefficients, scattering efficiency, and the reflected current's radial component. We show that the scattering coefficients, the scattering efficiency, and the radial component of the reflected current depend explicitly on the magnetic flux. The magnetic flux may cause a slight shift in the oscillation position of the scattering coefficients. For scattering efficiency, magnetic flux may also lead to a slight shift in their oscillation position and an increase in amplitude when the magnetic flux decreases.

Entanglement in a two-qubit Heisenberg XXX chain with x-components of Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya and Kaplan-Shekhtman-Entin-Wohlman-Aharony interactions

This article explores the concurrence, including entanglement, in a two-qubit Heisenberg XXX chain with Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya and Kaplan-Shekhtman-Entin-Wohlman-Aharony interactions. The concurrence expression was developed using the physical variables connected with the chosen system. Our results indicate that temperature, the spin coupling constant $J$, the x-components $D_x$, and $Γ_x$ may all play a role in determining the degree of intricacy between states. Additionally, these findings imply that the separability of states is possible for high-temperature domains or ferromagnetic chains. In contrast, the entanglement of states may be achieved by using high values for the x-components $D_x$ or $Γ_x$ parameters or by using an antiferromagnetic chain.

Quantum teleportation via a two-qubit Heisenberg XXX chain with x-component of Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction

In this paper, we investigate the thermal entanglement and teleportation of a thermally mixed entangled via a two-qubit Heisenberg XXX chain with the x-component $D_x$ of the Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction. Our findings suggest that temperature $T$, spin coupling constant J, and the x-components $D_x$ may influence entanglement of the output states and, consequently, the possibilities of teleportation protocols. Furthermore, these results indicate that the entanglement of the output states requires a low-temperature regime, weak Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction, or an antiferromagnetic chain. Finally, the channel becomes entangled, making the teleportation protocol conceivable and feasible.

Scattering in Monolayer Molybdenum Disulfide Quantum Dot

We investigate the propagation of electrons in a circular quantum dot of monolayer Molybdenium disulfide MoS_2, subjected to an electric potential. Using the continuum model, we present analytical expressions for the eigenstates, scattering coefficients, scattering efficiency, and radial component of the reflected current and electron density. We identify two scattering regimes as a function of physical parameters such as incident electronic energy, potential barrier, and quantum dot radius. For the incident electron low energy, we show that there is an appearance of scattering resonances. Also, we note that the Far-field scattered current has distinct preferred scattering directions.

Confinement in Gapped Graphene with Magnetic Flux

We study the propagation of electrons in a circular quantum dot of gapped graphene subject to the magnetic flux $ϕ$. We present analytical expressions for the eigenstates, scattering coefficients, scattering efficiency and radial component of the reflected current. We identify different scattering regimes as a function of the physical parameters such as the incident electronic energy, potential barrier, radius of quantum dot, gap and $ϕ$. We choose two values of the flux $ϕ=1/2, 3/2$ and show that for low energy of the incident electron, the scattering resonances appear and the far-field scattered current presents distinct preferred scattering directions.

Energy Levels of Gapped Graphene Quantum Dot in Magnetic Field

We study the energy levels of carriers confined in a magnetic quantum dot of graphene surrounded by a infinite graphene sheet in the presence of energy gap. The eigenspinors are derived for the valleys $K$ and $K'$, while the associated energy levels are obtained by using the boundary condition at interface of the quantum dot. We numerically investigate our results and show that the energy levels exhibit the symmetric and antisymmetric behaviors under suitable conditions of the physical parameters. We find that the radial probability can be symmetric or antisymmeric according to the angular momentum is null or no-null. Finally, we show that the application of an energy gap decreases the electron density in the quantum dot, which indicates a temporary trapping of electrons.

Energy Levels of Graphene Magnetic Circular Quantum Dot

We study the energy levels of graphene magnetic circular quantum dot surrounded by an infinite graphene sheet in the presence of an electrostatic potential. We solve Dirac equation to derive the solutions of energy spectrum associated with different regions composing our system. Using the continuum model and applying boundary conditions at the interface, we obtain analytical results for the energy levels. The dependence of the energy levels on the quantum dot radius, magnetic field and electrostatic potential is analyzed for the two valleys $K$ and $K'$. We show that the energy levels exhibit characteristics of interface states and have an energy gap.

AA-stacked Bilayer Graphene Quantum Dots in Magnetic Field

By applying the infinite-mass boundary condition, we analytically calculate the confined states and the corresponding wave functions of AA-stacked bilayer graphene quantum {dots} in the presence of an uniform magnetic field $B$. It is found that the energy spectrum shows two set of levels, which are the double copies of the energy spectrum for single layer graphene, shifted up-down by $+γ$ and $-γ$, respectively. However, the obtained spectrum exhibits different symmetries between the electron and hole states as well as the intervalley symmetries. It is noticed that, the applied magnetic field breaks all symmetries, except one related to the intervalley electron-hole symmetry, i.e. $E^e(τ,m)=-E^h(τ,m)$. Two different regimes of confinement are found: the first one is due to the infinite-mass barrier at weak $B$ and the second is dominated by the magnetic field as long as $B$ is large. We numerically investigated the basics features of the energy spectrum to show the main similarities and differences with respect to monolayer graphene, AB-stacked bilayer graphene and semiconductor quantum dots.

Energy Levels of an Ideal Quantum Ring in AA-Stacked Bilayer Graphene

We theoretically analyze the energy spectrum of a quantum ring in AA-stacked bilayer graphene with radius $R$ for a zero width subjected to a perpendicular magnetic field $B$. An analytical approach, using the Dirac equation, is implemented to obtain the energy spectrum by freezing out the carrier radial motion. The obtained spectrum exhibits different symmetries and for a fixed total angular momentum $m$, it has a hyperbolic dependence of the magnetic field. In particular, the energy spectra are not invariant under the transformation $B \longrightarrow -B$. The application of a potential, on the upper and lower layer, allows to open a gap in the energy spectrum and the application of a non zero magnetic field breaks all symmetries. We also analyze the basics features of the energy spectrum to show the main similarities and differences with respect to ideal quantum ring in monolayer, AB-stacked bilayer graphene and a quantum ring with finite width in AB-stacked bilayer graphene.

Gate-Tunable Graphene Quantum Dot and Dirac Oscillator

We obtain the solution of the Dirac equation in (2+1) dimensions in the presence of a constant magnetic field normal to the plane together with a two-dimensional Dirac-oscillator potential coupling. We study the energy spectrum of graphene quantum dot (QD) defined by electrostatic gates. We give discussions of our results based on different physical settings, whether the cyclotron frequency is similar or larger/smaller compared to the oscillator frequency. This defines an effective magnetic field that produces the effective quantized Landau levels. We study analytically such field in gate-tunable graphene QD and show that our structure allow us to control the valley degeneracy. Finally, we compare our results with already published work and also discuss the possible applications of such QD.
