Axial vector transition form factors of $N \rightarrow Δ$ in QCD

The isovector axial vector form factors of $N \rightarrow Δ$ transition are calculated by employing Light-cone QCD sum rules. The analytical results are analysed by both the conventional method, and also by a Monte Carlo based approach which allows one to scan all of the parameter space. The predictions are also compared with the results in the literature, where available. Although the Monte Carlo analysis predicts large uncertainties in the predicted results, the predictions obtained by the conventional analysis are in good agreement with other results in the literature.

Quarkonium Contribution to Meson Molecules

Starting from a molecular picture for the X(3872) resonance, this state and its J^{PC}=2++ HQSS partner [X2(4012)] are analyzed within a model which incorporates possible mixings with 2P charmonium states. Since it is reasonable to expect the bare chi_{c1}(2P) to be located above the D\bar D* threshold, but relatively close to it, the presence of the charmonium state provides an effective attraction that will contribute to bind the X(3872), but it will not appear in the 2++ sector. Indeed in this latter sector, the chi_{c2}(2P) should provide an effective small repulsion, because it is placed well below the D*\bar D* threshold. We show how the 1++ and 2++ bare charmonium poles are modified due to the D(*)\bar D(*) loop effects, and the first one is moved to the complex plane. The meson loops produce, besides some shifts in the masses of the charmonia, a finite width for the 1++ dressed charmonium state. On the other hand, the X(3872) and X2(4012) start developing some charmonium content, which is estimated by means of the compositeness Weinberg sum-rule. We also show that for X(3872) molecular probabilities of around 70-90 %, the X2 resonance destabilizes and disappears from the spectrum, becoming either a virtual state or being located deep into the complex plane, with decreasing influence in the D* \bar D* scattering line.

Tensor form factors of the octet hyperons in QCD

Light-cone QCD sum rules to leading order in QCD are used to investigate the tensor form factors of the $Σ-Σ$, $Ξ-Ξ$ and $ Σ-Λ$ transitions in the range $1 GeV^2 \leq Q^2 \leq 10 GeV^2$. The DAs of $Σ$, $Ξ$ and $Λ$ baryon have been calculated without higher order terms. Then, study including higher order corrections have been done for $Σ$ and $Λ$ baryon. The result of form factors are obtained using these two DAs. We make a comparison with the predictions of the chiral quark soliton model.

Hidden charm and bottom molecular states

We investigate heavy quark symmetries for heavy light meson-antimeson systems in a contact-range effective field theory. In the SU(3) light flavor limit, the leading order Lagrangian respecting heavy quark spin symmetry contains four independent counter-terms. Neglecting $1/m_Q$ corrections, three of these low energy constants can be determ1ined by theorizing a molecular description of the $X(3872)$ and $Z_b(10610)$ states. Thus, we can predict new hadronic molecules, in particular the isovector charmonium partners of the $Z_b(10610)$ and the $Z_b(10650)$ states. We also discuss hadron molecules composed of a heavy meson and a doubly-heavy baryon, which would be related to the heavy meson-antimeson molecules thanks to the heavy antiquark-diquark symmetry. Finally, we also study the $X(3872) \to D^0\bar D^0π^0$ decay, which is not only sensitive to the short distance part of the $X(3872)$ molecular wave function, as the $J/ψππ$ and $J/\psi3π$ $X(3872)$ decay modes are, but it is also affected by the long-distance structure of the resonance. Furthermore, this decay might provide some information on the interaction between the $D\bar D$ charm mesons.

Isovector Axial Vector Form Factors of Octet-Decuplet Hyperon Transition in QCD

We calculate the isovector axial vector form factors of the octet-decuplet hyperon transitions within the framework of the light-cone QCD sum rules (LCSR) to leading in QCD and including higher-twist corrections. In particular, we motivate the most recent version of the $Σ$ baryon distribution amplitudes which are examined up to twist-6 based on conformal symmetry of the massless QCD Lagrangian.

Long-distance structure of the X(3872)

We investigate heavy quark symmetries for heavy meson hadronic molecules, and explore the consequences of assuming the X(3872) and $Z_b(10610)$ as an isoscalar $D\bar D^*$ and an isovector $B\bar B^*$ hadronic molecules, respectively. The symmetry allows to predict new hadronic molecules, in particular we find an isoscalar $1^{++}$ $B\bar B^*$ bound state with a mass about 10580 MeV and the isovector charmonium partners of the $Z_b(10610)$ and the $Z_b(10650)$ states. Next, we study the $X(3872) \to D^0 \bar D^0π^0$ three body decay. This decay mode is more sensitive to the long-distance structure of the X(3872) resonance than its $J/ψππ$ and $J/\psi3π$ decays, which are mainly controlled by the short distance part of the X(3872) molecular wave function. We discuss the $D^0 \bar D^0$ final state interactions, which in some situations become quite important. Indeed in these cases, a precise measurement of this partial decay width could provide precise information on the interaction strength between the $D^{(*)}\bar D^{(*)}$ charm mesons.

Hidden beauty molecules within the local hidden gauge approach and heavy quark spin symmetry

Using a coupled channel unitary approach, combining the heavy quark spin symmetry and the dynamics of the local hidden gauge, we investigate the meson-meson interaction with hidden beauty and obtain several new states. Both I=0 and I=1 states are analyzed and it is shown that in the I=1 sector, the interactions are too weak to create any bound states within our framework. In total, we predict with confidence the existence of 6 bound states, and weakly bound 6 more possible states. The existence of these weakly bound states depend on the influence of the coupled channel effects.

Vector and axial-vector couplings of D and D* mesons in 2+1 flavor Lattice QCD

Using the axial-vector coupling and the electromagnetic form factors of the D and D* mesons in 2+1 flavor Lattice QCD, we compute the D*Dπ, DDρand D*D*ρcoupling constants, which play an important role in describing the charm hadron interactions in terms of meson-exchange models. We also extract the charge radii of D and D* mesons and determine the contributions of the light and charm quarks separately.

Semileptonic transition of $Σ_{b}$ to $Σ$ in Light Cone QCD Sum Rules

We use distribution amplitudes of the light $Σ$ baryon and the most general form of the interpolating current for heavy $Σ_b$ baryon to investigate the semileptonic $Σ_b\rightarrow Σl^+l^-$ transition in light cone QCD sum rules. We calculate all twelve form factors responsible for this transition and use them to evaluate the branching ratio of the considered channel. The order of branching fraction shows that this channel can be detected at LHC.

Mixing Angle of Hadrons in QCD: A New View

A new method for calculation of the mixing angle between the hadrons within QCD sum rules is proposed. In this method, the mixing is expressed in terms of quark and gluon degrees of freedom. As an application, the detailed calculation of the mixing angle between heavy cascade baryons Xi_Q and Xi_Q', Q=c,~b is presented and it is found that the mixing angle between Xi_b (Xi_c) and Xi_b' (Xi_c') is given by theta_b = 6.4^\circ \pm 1.8 ^\circ (theta_c = 5.5^\circ \pm 1.8^\circ).

The Semileptonic $B$ to $K_1(1270,1400)$ Decays in QCD Sum Rules

We analyze the semileptonic rare decays of $B$ meson to $K_{1} (1270)$ and $K_{1} (1400)$ axial vector mesons. The $B\to K_{1} (1270,1400) \ell^+ \ell^-$ decays are significant flavor changing neutral current decays of the $B$ meson. These decays are sensitive to the new physics beyond SM, since these processes are forbidden at tree level at SM. These decays occurring at the quark level via $b\to s \ell^+ \ell^- $ transition, also provide new opportunities for calculating the CKM matrix elements $V_{bt}$ and $V_{ts}$. In this study, the transition form factors of the $B\to K_{1} (1270,1400) \ell^+ \ell^-$ decays are calculated using three-point QCD sum rules approach. The resulting form factors are used to estimate the branching fractions of these decays.

Pseudoscalar--meson decuplet--baryon coupling constants in light cone QCD

Taking into account the $SU(3)_f$ breaking effects, the strong coupling constants of the $π$, $K$ and $η$ mesons with decuplet baryons are calculated within light cone QCD sum rules method. It is shown that all coupling constants, even in the case of $SU(3)_f$ breaking, are described in terms of only one universal function. It is shown that for $Ξ^{\ast 0} \to Ξ^{\ast 0} η$ transition violation of $SU(3)_f$ symmetry is very large and for other channels when $SU(3)_f$ symmetry is violated, its maximum value constitutes $10%\div15%$.

Phenomenology of the Heavy Flavored spin 3/2 Baryons in Light Cone QCD

Motivated by the results of the recent experimental discoveries for charm and bottom baryons, the masses and magnetic moments of the heavy baryons with $J^P=3/2^+$ containing a single heavy quark are studied within light cone QCD sum rules method. Our results on the masses of heavy baryons are in good agreement with predictions of other approaches, as well as with the existing experimental data.

The radiative decays of decuplet to octet baryons are analyzed within the light cone QCD sum rules framework. The electromagnetic transition form factors for these decays are calculated up to twist four accuracy for photon wave functions as well as including first order strange quark mass corrections. A comparison of our results with predictions of lattice theory and existing experimental data is presented.

Fourth generation effects in rare (B_s -> l^+ l^-) and (B_s -> l^+ l^- gamma) decays

The contribution of the fourth generation quarks to the rare (B_s -> l^+ l^-) and (B_s -> l^+ l^- gamma) decays are studied. Constraints on the extended Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix elements |V_{tb} V_{ts}*| and |V_{t'b} V_{t's}*| are obtained from the existing experimental result for the branching ratio of the (B -> X_s gamma) decay. The branching ratios of the above-mentioned decays, as well as the photon spectrum in the (B_s -> l^+ l^- gamma) decay, are studied. It is found that the results are sensitive to the existence of the fourth generation.

Radiative (phi -> f_0(980) gamma) decay in light cone QCD sum rules

The light cone QCD sum rules method is used to calculate the transition form factor for the radiative (phi -> f_0 gamma) decay, assuming that the quark content of the (f_0) meson is pure (bar{s}s) state. The branching ratio is estimated to be Br(phi -> f_0 gamma) = 3.5 x (1 pm 0.3) x 10^(-4). A comparison of our prediction on branching ratio with the theoretical results and experimental data existing in literature is presented.

Exclusive (Lambda_b -> Lambda l^+ l^-) decay beyond standard model

Using the most general, model independent form of the effective Hamiltonian, the exclusive, rare baryonic (Lambda_b -> Lambda l^+ l^- ~l=μ,τ) decay is analyzed. We study sensitivity of the branching ratio and lepton forward-backward asymmetry to the new Wilson coefficients. Is is shown that these physical quantities are quite sensitive to the new Wilson coefficients. Determination of the position of zero value of the forward-backward asymmetry can serve as a useful tool for establishing new physics beyond the standard model, as well as fixing the sign of the new Wilson coefficients.

New physics effects in (Lambda_b -> Lambda l^+ l^-) decay with lepton polarizations

We study lepton polarization asymmetries in the (Lambda_b -> Lambda l^+ l^-) decay using the most general model independent effective Hamiltonian. The dependence of the lepton polarizations and their combinations on the new Wilson coefficients are studied in detail. It is observed that there is a region for the new Wilson coefficients for which the branching ratio coincides with the standard model prediction, while lepton polarizations show considerable departure from standard model.

Reduced Density Matrix Approach to Phononic Dissipation in Friction

Understanding mechanisms for energy dissipation from nanoparticles in contact with large samples is a central problem in describing friction microscopically. Calculation of the reduced density matrix appears to be the most suitable metho to study such systems that are coupled to a large environment. In this paper the time evolution of the reduced density matrix has been evaluated for an arbitrary system coupled to a heat reservoir. The formalism is then applied to study the vibrational relaxation following the stick-slip motion of a small adsorbate on a surface. The frequency dependence of the relaxation time is also determined.
