Gravitational Waves in New General Relativity

The models of New General Relativity have recently got attention of research community, and there are some works studying their dynamical properties. The formal aspects of this investigation have been mostly restricted to the primary constraints in the Hamiltonian analysis. However, it is by far not enough for counting their degrees of freedom or judging whether they are any good and viable. In this paper we study linearised equations in vacuum around the trivial Minkowski tetrad. By taking the approach of cosmological perturbation theory we show that the numbers of primary constraints are very easily seen without any need of genuine Hamiltonian techniques, and give the full count of linearised degrees of freedom in the weak field limit of each and every version of New General Relativity without matter.

Deviation of nonradial geodesics in a static spherically symmetric space-time

The article generalizes the description of tidal forces to the case of geodesics with non-zero angular momentum in the metric of static spherically symmetric black holes. We show that the geodesic deviation equation can be diagonalized even with non-radial free motion of a test body in the gravitational field. We present expressions for the spatial components of the tidal force in a spherically symmetric metric. We also solve geodesic deviation equation in the Schwarzschild metric and demonstrate how the presence of angular momentum and its magnitude affect the solution.

Geodesic deviation on symmetry axis in Taub-NUT metric

An important aspect of General Relativity is to study properties of geodesics. A useful tool for describing geodesic behavior is the geodesic deviation equation. It allows to describe the tidal properties of gravitating objects through the curvature of spacetime. This article focuses on the study of the axially symmetric Taub-NUT metric. We study tidal effects in this metric using the geodesic deviation equation. Radial geodesics along the symmetry axis of spacetime are considered. We show that all spatial components of tidal forces always change sign under the event horizon. We find a solution of the geodesic deviation equation for all geodesic deviation vector components. It allows us to quantify the effect of the NUT-charge on the tidal properties of Taub-NUT metric. And another important feature that we found is the regular behavior of all tidal force components at all points of spacetime.

Tidal properties of D-dimensional Tangherlini black holes

This paper investigates tidal forces in multidimensional spherically symmetric spacetimes. We consider geodesic deviation equation in Schwarzschild-Tangherlini metric and its electrically charged analog. It was shown that for radial geodesics these equations can be solved explicitly as quadratures in spaces of any dimension. In the case of five, six and seven dimensional spaces, these solutions can be represented in terms of elliptic integrals. For spacetimes of higher dimension, we find the asymptotics of the solution. It was found that in the physical singularity vicinity tidal stretch along the radial direction is the stronger the greater the dimension of space. Whereas the tidal compression in transverse to radial directions, starting from a certain dimension, does not change in the main order. Also in the case of non-radial geodesics, the presence of black hole electric charge does not affect the force of transverse compression in the leading order. For non-radial geodesics with non-zero angular momentum, the local properties of solutions of geodesic deviation equations in the vicinity of a singularity are studied.

New narrow LHCb pentaquarks as lowest antiquark-diquark-diquark systems

The antiquark-diquark-diquark model describes pentaquark states both in terms of quarks and hadrons. We discuss pentaquark states with hidden charm $P(\bar c cuud)$ discovered in the $J/Ψp$ spectrum by the LHCb collaboration. We consider three pentaquark states as members of the lowest ($S$-wave) multiplet and discuss the mass splitting scheme. The latest LHCb data for pentaquarks with hidden charm provide an opportunity to make an assumption about the diquark content of the pentaquark states. We give a classification for the LHCb pentaquarks and define recombination channels for these states.

Propagators of resonances and rescatterings of the decay products

Hadronic resonance propagators which take into account the analytical properties of decay processes are built in terms of the dispersion relation technique. Such propagators can describe multi-component systems, for example, those when quark degrees of freedom create a resonance state, and decay products correct the corresponding pole by adding hadronic deuteron-like components. Meson and baryon states are considered, examples of particles with different spins are presented.

Exotic mesons with hidden charm as diquark-antidiquark states

Exotic mesons with hidden strange ($s\bar s$) and heavy quark pairs ($Q\bar Q$), where $Q=c,b$, are considered as diquark-antidiquark systems, $(Qs)(\bar Q\bar s)$. Taking into account that these states can recombinate into two-meson ones, we study the interplay of these states in terms of the dispersion relation D-function technique. The classification of exotic mesons is discussed, coefficients for decay modes are given, predictions for new states are presented. The nonet structure for $((Qq)(\bar Q \bar q)$, ($(Qs)(\bar Q\bar s$)), ($(Qq)(\bar Q\bar s))$- states ($q=u,d$) is suggested.

Pentaquarks and resonances in the $pJ/ψ$ spectrum

We consider exotic baryons with hidden charm as antiquark-diquark-diquark composite systems. Spin and isospin structure of such exotic states is given and masses are estimated. The data for production of pentaquarks in the reaction $Λ_b\to K^-p J/ψ$ are discussed. We suggest that the narrow peak in $pJ/ψ$ spectra at 4450 MeV is antiquark-diquark-diquark state with negative parity, $5/2^{-}(4450)$, while the broad bump $3/2^{+}(4380)$ is the result of rescatterings in the ($pJ/ψ$)-channel. Positions of other pentaquarks with negative parity are estimated.

Constraint algebra for Regge-Teitelboim formulation of gravity

We consider the formulation of the gravity theory first suggested by Regge and Teitelboim where the space-time is a four-dimensional surface in a flat ten-dimensional space. We investigate a canonical formalism for this theory following the approach suggested by Regge and Teitelboim. Under constructing the canonical formalism we impose additional constraints agreed with the equations of motion. We obtain the exact form of the first-class constraint algebra. We show that this algebra contains four constraints which form a subalgebra (the ideal), and if these constraints are fulfilled, the algebra becomes the constraint algebra of the Arnowitt-Deser-Misner formalism of Einstein's gravity. The reasons for the existence of additional first-class constraints in the canonical formalism are discussed.
