Mechanisms of the isospin-breaking decay $f_1(1285)\to f_0(980)π^0\toπ^+π^-π^0$

Estimated are the contributions of the following mechanisms responsible for the decay $f_1(1285)\to f_0(980)π^0\toπ^+π^-π^0$: 1) the contribution of the $a^0_0(980)-f_0(980)$ mixing, $f_1(1285)\to a_0(980)π^0\to (K^+K^-+K^0\bar K^0)π^0\to f_0(980)π^0\toπ^+π^-π^0$, 2) the contribution of the transition $f_1(1285)\to(K^+K^-+K^0\bar K^0)π^0\to f_0 (980)π^0\toπ^+π^-π^0$, arising due to the pointlike decay $f_1 (1285)\to K\bar Kπ^0$, 3) the contribution of the transition $f_1(1285)\to(K^*\bar K+\bar K^*K)\to(K^+K^-+K^0\bar K^0)π^0\to f_0(980)π^0\to π^+π^-π^0$, where $K^*=K^*(892)$, and 4) the contribution of the transition $f_1(1285)\to(K^*_0\bar K+\bar K^*_0K)\to(K^+K^-+K^0\bar K^0)π^0\to f_0(980)\toπ^+ π^-π^0$, where $K^*_0=K^*_0(800)$ (or $κ$) and $K^*_0(1430)$. These mechanisms break the conservation of the isospin due to the nonzero mass difference of the $K^+$ and $K^0$ mesons. They result in the appearance of the narrow resonance structure in the $π^+π^-$ mass spectrum in the region of the $K\bar K$ thresholds, with the width $\approx2m_{K^0}-2m_{K^+}\approx8$ MeV. The observation of such a structure in experiment is the direct indication on the $K\bar K$ loop mechanism of the breaking of the isotopic invariance. We point out that existing data should be more precise, and it is difficult to explain them using the single specific mechanism from those listed above. Taking the decay $f_1(1285)\to f_0(980)π^0 \toπ^+π^-π^0$ as the example, we discuss the general approach to the description of the $K\bar K$ loop mechanism of the breaking of isotopic invariance.

Isospin breaking decay $η(1405) \to f_0(980)π^0 \to 3π$

There are attempts in the literature to theoretically explain the large breaking of isotopic invariance in the decay $η(1405)$\,$\to$\,$f_0(980)π^0$\,$\to$\,$ 3π$ by the mechanism containing the logarithmic (triangle) singularity, i.e., as being due to the transition $η(1405)\to(K^*\bar K+\bar K^*K)\to(K^+K^-+K^0\bar K^0)π^0\to f_0(980)π^0\to3π$. The corresponding calculations were fulfilled for a hypothetic case of the stable $K^*$ meson. Here, we show that the account of the finite width of the $K^*$ ($Γ_{K^*\to Kπ}\approx50$ MeV) smoothes the logarithmic singularities in the amplitude and results in the suppression of the calculated decay width $η(1405)\to f_0(980) π^0\to3π$ by the factor of $6-8$ as compared with the case of $Γ_{K^*\to Kπ}$\,=\,0. We also analyze the difficulties related with the assumption of the dominance of the $η(1405)\to(K^*\bar K+\bar K^*K)\to K\bar Kπ$ decay mechanism and discuss the possible dynamics of the decay $η(1405)\toηππ$. The decisive improvement of the experimental data on the $K\bar K$, $ Kπ$, $ηπ$, and $ππ$ mass spectra in the decay of the resonance structure $η(1405/1475)$ to $K\bar Kπ$ and $ηππ$, and on the shape of the resonance peaks themselves in the $K\bar Kπ$ and $ηππ$ decay channels is necessary for the further establishing the $η(1405)\to3 π$ decay mechanism.

Vortex dynamics in nonrelativistic Abelian Higgs model

The dynamics of the gauge vortex with arbitrary form of a contour is considered in the framework of the nonrelativistic Abelian Higgs model, including the possibility of the gauge field interaction with the fermion asymmetric background. The equations for the time derivatives of the curvature and the torsion of the vortex contour generalizing the Betchov-Da Rios equations in hydrodynamics, are obtained. They are applied to study the conservation of helicity of the gauge field forming the vortex, twist, and writhe numbers of the vortex contour. It is shown that the conservation of helicity is broken when both terms in the equation of the vortex motion are present, first due to the exchange of excitations of the phase and modulus of the scalar field and the second one due to the coupling of the gauge field forming the vortex, with the fermion asymmetric background.

Pion form factor and reactions e^+e^---> omega pi^0 and e^+e^---> pi^+ pi^- pi^+ pi^- at energies up to 2-3 GeV in the many-channel approach

Using the field-theory-inspired expression for the pion electromagnetic form factor F_π, a good description of the data in the range -10<s<1 GeV^2 is obtained upon taking into account the pseudoscalar-pseudoscalar (PP) loops. When the vector-pseudoscalar (VP) and the axial vector-pseudoscalar (AP) loops are taken into account in addition to the PP ones, a good description of the BABAR data on the reaction e^+e^--->pi^+ pi^- is obtained at energies up to 3 GeV. The inclusion of the VP and AP loops demands the treatment of the reactions e^+e^---> omega pi^0 and e^+e^---> pi^+ pi^- pi^+ pi^-. This task is also made, with the SND data on the omega pi^0 production and the BABAR data on the pi^+ pi^- pi^+ pi^- production, both in e^+e^- annihilation, upon taking into account ρ(770) and the heavier ρ(1450), ρ(1700), and ρ(2100) resonances. The problems with inclusion of the VP and AP loops are pointed out and discussed.

Bose gas in power-like spherically symmetric potential in arbitrary spatial dimensionality

Temperature of the Bose -- Einstein condensation and the temperature behavior of the chemical potential and other thermodynamical functions of the ideal Bose gas are found for the arbitrary power-like spherical-symmetric potential at an arbitrary space dimension. It is shown that the recently observed Bose -- Einstein condensation of photons in the cavity is the phase transition of the third kind.

Pion form factor in the range -10 GeV^2 < s < 1 GeV^2

Based on the field-theory-inspired approach, a new expression for the pion form factor F_pi is proposed. It takes into account the pseudoscalar meson loops $π^+π^-$ and $K\bar K$ and the mixing of $ρ(770)$ with heavier $ρ(1450)$ and $ρ(1700)$ resonances. The expression possesses correct analytical properties and describes the data in the wide range of the energy squared $-10{GeV}^2\leq s\leq1$ GeV$^2$ without introducing the phenomenological Blatt -- Weisskopf range parameter $R_π$.

Electromagnetic form factor of pion in the field theory inspired approach

A new formula for the pion form factor F_pi is proposed which takes into account the pseudoscalar meson loops and the mixing among rho(770), rho(1450), and rho(1700). The expression possesses correct analytical properties and can be used in both timelike and spacelike kinematical regions. The comparison is made with the existing experimental data on F_pi collected by the detectors SND, CMD-2, KLOE, and BaBaR restricted to energies below 1 GeV. A good description of all four data sets is obtained. In the spacelike region, upon substituting the resonance parameters found in the timelike one, the formula gives F_pi, in agreement with the measurements of the NA7 Collaboration.

Confronting generalized hidden local symmetry chiral model with the ALEPH data on the decay tau^- to pi^+ pi^- pi^- nu_tau

Generalized Hidden Local Symmetry (GHLS) model is the chiral model of pseudoscalar, vector, and axial vector mesons and their interactions. It contains also the couplings of strongly interacting particles with electroweak gauge bosons. Here, GHLS model is confronted with the ALEPH data on the decay $τ^-\toπ^-π^-π^+ν_τ$. It is shown that the invariant mass spectrum of final pions in this decay calculated in GHLS framework with the single $a_1(1260)$ resonance disagrees with the experimental data at any reasonable number of free GHLS parameters. Two modifications of GHLS model based on inclusion of two additional heavier axial vector mesons are studied. One of them giving a good description of the ALEPH data, with all the parameters kept free is shown to result in very large $Γ_{a_1^\pm\toπ^\pmγ}$ partial width. The other scheme with the GHLS parameters fixed in a way that the universality is preserved and the observed central value of $Γ_{a_1^\pm\toπ^\pmγ}$ is reached, results in a good description of the three pion spectrum in $τ^-\toπ^+π^-π^-ν_τ$ decay.

Troubles of describing multiple pion production in chiral dynamics

Generalized Hidden Local Symmetry (GHLS) model as the chiral model of pseudoscalar, vector, and axial vector mesons and their interactions containing also the couplings of strongly interacting particles with electroweak gauge bosons, is confronted with the ALEPH data on the decay $τ^-\toπ^-π^-π^+ν_τ$ and BABAR and CMD data on the reaction $e^+e^-\toπ^+π^-π^+π^-$. It is shown that both the invariant mass spectrum of final pions in $τ$ decay calculated in the GHLS framework with the single $a_1(1260)$ resonance and the cross section $e^+e^-\toπ^+π^-π^+π^-$ calculated in the above framework with the single $ρ(770)$ resonance, disagree with the experimental data. The modifications of GHLS model based on inclusion of two additional heavier axial vector mesons $a_1^\prime$, $a_1^{\prime\prime}$ in the $τ$ decay and the vector mesons $ρ^\prime$, $ρ^{\prime\prime}$ in $e^+e^-\toπ^+π^-π^+π^-$ are shown to be necessary for the good description of the above data.

The effective action and equations of motion of curved local and global vortices: Role of the field excitations

The effective actions for both local and global curved vortices are derived, based on the derivative expansion of the corresponding field theoretic actions of the nonrelativistic Abelian Higgs and Goldstone models. The role of excitations of the modulus and the phase of the scalar field and of the gauge field (the Bogolyubov-Anderson mode) emitted and reabsorbed by vortices is elucidated. In case of the local (gauge) magnetic vortex, they are necessary for cancellation of the long distance divergence when using the transverse form of the electric gauge field strength of the background field. In case of global vortex taking them into account results in the Greiter-Wilczek-Witten form of the effective action for the Goldstone mode. The expressions for transverse Magnus-like force and the vortex effective mass for both local and global vortices are found. The equations of motion of both type of vortices including the terms due to the field excitations are obtained and solved in cases of large and small contour displacements.

Gauge vortex dynamics at finite mass of bosonic fields

The simple derivation of the string equation of motion adopted in the nonrelativistic case is presented, paying the special attention to the effects of finite masses of bosonic fields of an Abelian Higgs model. The role of the finite mass effects in the evaluation of various topological characteristics of the closed strings is discussed. The rate of the dissipationless helicity change is calculated. It is demonstrated how the conservation of the sum of the twisting and writhing numbers of the string is recovered despite the changing helicity.

Electromagnetic form factors in the J/ψmass region: The case in favor of additional resonances

Using the results of our recent analysis of e^+e^- annihilation, we plot the curves for the diagonal and transition form factors of light hadrons in the time-like region up to the production threshold of an open charm quantum number. The comparison with existing data on the decays of J/ψinto such hadrons shows that some new resonance structures may be present in the mass range between 2 GeVand the J/ψmass. Searching them may help in a better understanding of the mass spectrum in both the simple and a more sophisticated quark models, and in revealing the details of the three-gluon mechanism of the OZI rule breaking in K\bar K channel.

Heavy Isovector Resonances in e^+e^- annihilation, in the decay J/psi-->pi^+pi^-pi^0 and in the reaction K^-p-->pi^+pi^-Lambda

The results of an analysis are presented of some recent data on the reactions $e^+e^-\toπ^+π^-π^+π^-$, $e^+e^-\toπ^+π^-π^0π^0$ with the subtracted $ωπ^0$ events, $e^+e^-\toωπ^0$, $e^+e^-\toηπ^+π^-$, $e^+e^-\toπ^+π^-$, $J/ψ\toπ^+π^-π^0$ and $K^-p\toπ^+π^-Λ$, upon taking into account both the strong energy dependence of the partial widths on energy and the previously neglected mixing of the $ρ$ type resonances. The above effects are shown to exert an essential influence on the specific values of masses and coupling constants of heavy resonances and hence are necessary to be accounted for in establishing their true nature.
